I came to Martina at the end of my first trimester when I still struggled with early pregnancy reactions. Iād stopped exercise for a while and was quite weak with very little muscle mass at that time. So, I was quite anxious about everything that could have happened during my pregnancy.
After about 6 monthsā training, Martinaās extremely professional guidance and charming personality help me manage to successfully control my weight, starting with 100 lbs. before pregnancy and is 115 lbs. around 9 months, and enjoy a healthy and relaxing journey of pregnancy.More importantly, the exercises not only thoroughly strengthen my muscles but give me enough confidence and motivation to try higher-level Yoga as well.
Martina is a phenomenal coach since she individualizes the teaching approach to each personās aptitude, personality and interest. She inspires us to set proper goals that are challenge yet achievable to ourselves. Due to my weak foundation, we started with a few one-to-one sessions in which she precisely pointed my weakest parts and immensely improved my understanding of Yoga and performance in a short period of time. Whatās more meaningful was that those sessions helped me overcome my timidity and inner fear, and a breakthrough was achieved after 2 sessions.
Martina, seemingly strict at the first glance, is actually very gentle and considerate, always paying attention to studentsā physical and mental feelings in each class. This is crucial especially to pregnant students like me since it provides us enough sense of security and flexibility to explore and realize the limits of our bodies during this special time and do what really benefits our own bodies.

Martina scheduled a 1:1 with me first to access my level, and assigned me to a group class that fits me the best. From the first class, I fell in love with the class. Martina is not only a diligent teacher, but also really cares about each of her students. I never felt bored during the class (each class has different yoga poses, it never repeat), and each class has a good level of difficulties that I become stronger after each class. As my belly gets bigger, Martina will modify the poses to make sure they are appropriate for me. Because I was taking her class 2-3 times/week, I never had swollen feet in my 3rd trimester, and my back pain from my 1st pregnancy was also cured. I was feeling really good during my 3rd trimester, and I can't thank Martina enough for that. The best part is the breathing class during 37-38 weeks. I had a couple 1:1 class with Martina to practice breathing, and it worked magically during labor. I arrived at the hospital at 4cm, and it progressed to 9cm in one hour. During that time, I was walking and practicing breathing I learned between each contractions. I was in control of the pain the entire time. It was a very smooth labor and my baby was born in less than 2 hours after we arrived at the hospital. I am currently in postpartum and can't wait to return to Martina's class after 6 weeks to continue my postpartum recovery.
