I think the experience may depend on where you're located. Up the hill near the leasing office may be better than down by the baseball field.
I had an issue with my mailbox and the guy was great at following up. However, prior someone stole my catalytic converter off my car in the middle of the night. I had let management know and asked they inform the other tenants since this crime has risen over 3000%. No response or warning email.
I was told that baseball was only in the summer, a couple days at most and doesn't go past 7 PM. Unfortunately, it went through towards the end of fall, was most nights and went beyond 9:30 p.m. It's now mid/late January and baseball is starting back up. They blast music as early as 10 a.m.
Also, due to the parking lot, high school kids often go down there to do donuts and you can hear racing going on from the road. If you work remotely, you also hear the nosy leaf blowing and mowing weekly during fall.
The place itself is okay. People tend to keep to themselves. It's pretty quiet neighbor wise. The fireplace is nice to have. Location wise is nice because you are tucked away which adds a more comfy feel.
Unfortunately, I found mold on the filter where the water comes out of the faucets (kitchen and bathroom) and a couple other areas. There was a bad ant infestation going on in the summer (another neighbor said she had it bad when she first moved in too) and there's spiders everywhere outside the door (you can see webs above most people's door). You can see the layers of paint and can tell they didn't clean the walls prior from all the previous tenants but they do a good color scheme.
The bathroom steams up even when the vent is on. The water is SUPER loud anytime we flush or shower. When our neighbor flushes or showers we can hear a loud static noise the whole time - if you're on a call or video chatting it's overtakes the conversation.
Overall, it's not bad if you don't mind extra maintenance on your hands and a louder environment. It's decent for passing through but definitely won't be...
Read moreKelsey Ridge is a wonderful apartment complex. There are a lot of things to love about this property - the location is beautiful and quiet, the grounds are well maintained and cared for, and the response to service requests are FREAKY fast and all of the service employees are beyond nice. I spent a year here during the quarantine and I am so happy I was at Kelsey Ridge and nowhere else.
The management is incredibly responsive, which anyone with any past experience with large apartments will know is very rare. But not only are they responsive, they are friendly, helpful, and hold convenient hours. The covered parking for residents is really nice and there are always ample spots for guests, I never once had to scrounge for parking.
Though we lived here in 2020 and couldn't use any of the amenities that are available to residents (pool, gym, leasing office with a rentable space), we still enjoyed our time here immensely. KR does a phenomenal job at making residents feel more at home by routinely sending out newsletters, planning events (even virtual events in 2020!) and always working to get more convenient services in place. When I was living here they instituted Fetch, the super convenient parcel service, which was great as we're all buying a ton of stuff online these days and having delivery security is key. I also cannot say enough about how amazing their service staff is, which is also SO rare in larger apartment complexes.
I loved the trees and all of the quietness this area affords, and nothing is detracting from the landscape of the space like noisy neighbors or loud cars at odd hours of the night. This is the perfect apartment to choose when you want to vacate the big Seattle city life or are looking for more lush landscape than...
Read moreApartments are great and renovated recently, but if your unit is anywhere near the baseball stadium as mine was, I would stay FAAAR away. The games and practices go on from April - Sept and have loud music the whole day. The rest of the year, they have loud maintenance and landscaping in the stadium for its upkeep, which starts at 8 AM and continues through the day. We loved the snow days because everything was finally quiet. If you work remotely, it will interrupt all your meetings, so be ready to stay on mute all the time. I complained to the KR management about this, but there isn't much they can do about the stadium.
I also left the apartment spotless with images to prove so, but was returned only 50% of my deposit (I wrote back to Tom, the KR manager, who never responded). They charged me for moving out 1 day early, despite being told that it was totally fine. I was moving out early, not 1 day later. So it was bizarre and upsetting.
Other than that, maintenance was timely and it was a safe community. Trails nearby are also nice and people were nice but quiet. I would just be careful about the unit you get and requiring clear documentation on charges prior...
