Aldi is a store I frequent quite often for my grocery needs. Unfortunately, I just had an experience that has left a very distasteful feeling towards it. The Manager was rude, unhelpful, and had no customer service. I went to buy 2 Indian sauces that were markdown. They came from the same box (you know when the boxes there have 2 or more different varieties in the same container). They came up different prices which I didn't understand. There were MULTIPLE of both varieties together. When I asked the cashier about the discrepancy she phoned back to the manager who said " oh a customer must have mixed a wrong variety in the batch". I waited for the manager to eventually come back up and I showed her the box that had both varieties on the label and explained that it was not just ONE or TWO but multiples of that variety mixed in. All she rudely offered was for me to return the item. No I am sorry about this let me fix it or show me what you mean or anything. After returning both items (and wanting to just return everything for her lack of customer service), I saw her standing in the aisle where this sauce was. I thought well good she at least is fixing this so others don't have the same problem, but before I leave I run back to check as she has moved onto a new aisle and NOPE she hasn't done a thing. Very disgusted with the customer service. I have been to stores that go above and beyond to make sure the customer is satisfied (Shoprite), sadly this is not the...
Read morePoorly stocked, bring your own bags, grocery carts available for a refundable 25 cents. Deposit your quarter, shop, check out and pay, fill your bags with your purchase or purchase their bags, use that cart you secured with your quarter to transport your groceries to your vehicle, transfer your groceries, then return your cart to their designated space to retrieve your quarter and hope that is not a hot day and anything frozen like ice cream does not have a chance to experience the weather. Okay, unless you really know what stuff costs in other stores and how far your radius of knowledge is, and they seem to count on it being limited or non-existent.
Enjoy your day at Aldi's, oh did I mention very few open registers for checkout? You can stand in a line of 5, or even 6 full grocery carts and they may still not open another register. You might think you are waiting to get into the new Star Wars movie for as long as you'll wait!

Read moreAldi, in general, is a great place to shop. They don't have a whole lot of variety, but who really needs 15 options for pasta sauce? The prices cannot be beat. I went today with my whole shopping list and spent, $71. The same list at Walmart usually runs me about $20-$30 more. This store, in particular, was very neat and organized, all the prices were correct, and all of the produce looked great. The only negative was the frozen section. I give it a pass, though, because there is a holiday in three days and it was burgers, fries, and things like that that they were out of stock or almost out. I would recommend Aldi to everyone. I even like them better than Save a Lot. Some advice : bring reusable bags or you will have to buy some from them (not expensive 7-10 cents each) and bring a quarter because they have carts that lock together with a...
