We lived at the Royal Belmont for over a year and loved our time there! From the start, Anthony was absolutely incredible. He was communicative and knowledgeable, and answered constant questions from me - a very high maintenance question asker! He found us the exact unit we were hoping for and was as helpful and responsive as he was that first day until the day we moved out.
Before we moved in, they let us know that the tenants before us had damaged the apartment and major renovations needed to happen. The office and maintenance teams worked with us to make sure we could still move in during our time frame, while helping us fix any issues we uncovered as we settled in during the first few weeks. They went ABOVE AND BEYOND every single time. Mickey is a national treasure. Not only is he smart and skilled, but he is kind and funny and takes time to really get to know the residents. He brings a sense of community to the RB that truly makes the place feel like home.
Madison in the office is also wonderful - she took the time to meet with us when we first moved in, to make sure all the damage from the previous residents was taken care of quickly, and to get to know us. She is approachable and understanding and was always responsive to our questions.
We had lived around the corner at the Windsor property before moving to the RB, and found it to be cold and standoffish. When we moved to the RB, we hoped for a better experience; what we found exceeded our expectations. We knew our neighbors and their pets. People stop to chat and smile in passing or strike up a conversation in the community dog park. Our puppy would see Mickey across the street and bark and wag her tail until he came over to say hello - they all knew her by name. The sense of community was truly more than we'd hoped for and we were honestly sad to move away.
In ANY apartment style living you're going to have issues - some noise from the neighbor upstairs who has grandchildren come to visit. Full trash bins after long weekends. Broken washers or clogged drains. The difference is that the team at the Royal Belmont actually care about their residents and address problems quickly. I always felt safe and confident in our living space.
If you're shopping around the Alewife area save yourself some time and start with the Royal Belmont. We researched them all (and even tried the Windsor) and hands down the Royal Belmont is the way to go. Anthony, Madison, Mickey, and crew - you...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOverall a great place to live. Some background and pros / cons below:
Background: We have lived here for over a year and a half. In both the 1000 and 2000 buildings
Pros: Over all Apts are just like every other ānewā apt complex in the Boston. Clean, spacious and good heat/ cooling
The staff and residents are a main reason to stick around. Samia and Rodyl are the best, they know all of the tenants well especially the kids and dogs and enjoy chatting about life. They handle any issue quickly and correctly. We have also become friends with other tenants, mostly good people here.
The shuttle bus driver, Ralph, is back by popular demand -he is always fun to talk with and makes people smile.
Belmont schools - google them if you donāt know and have kids
They do a great job of receiving packages and getting them sorted. Never heard of a package being stolen
Things get fixed very quickly (rarely have anything break)
I would add some of the 1 start reviews seem fake, and I am not sure who Chris was, he must have had a short lived tenure here...
Cons: The 2000 building was the last to be built and you can tell they cut some corners on sound proofing....you canāt hear conversions but it is not hard to hear neighbors vacuum or music... this is NOT the case in the 1000 building, we have not been able to hear anything from neighbors. (I would assume the 3000, 4000 and 5000 have good sound proofing as well)
Not the most economical place to live in Boston
Only 1 grill for all of us :/
Walking to alewife in winter can be hard if you miss the bus (.8 mile , Uber is about $10- depending on traffic it can be faster to walk)
Occasionally you can see someone smoking from their balcony (smoke free community, thank you for those who do walk to the street...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBeen living here for almost 6-months now and I love it, in short. Obviously nothing is perfect, but the people that work here are just that, people. Outside of them being professional/respectful, they're always open to having a friendly conversation.
I can't speak for every unit, but the 1-BRD lofts at this place have a fantastic layout. My guests are constantly complimenting the apartment and how it's different than any other complex they've been to (in Boston).
I live by myself and don't do many social gatherings, but this building always has something going on, from a wine tasting to Halloween costume parties to Verizon hosting an event. There's something for everyone here, in short.
With the holiday season approaching, tons of people will sending/receiving packages and I don't know how, but the leasing team here has been great in making sure everyone packages are labeled and are in an organized manner so the tenant will not have to scramble and start trying to find out which package is theirs and so on.
Though there's nothing negative to say about The Royal Belmont, I do wish there were more elevators in each building. it does take a little longer than most buildings I've been in for the elevators to get to me. But my assumption is because there's only one elevator in my building and most folks are going to work work and coming back from work around the same time frame.
Tony is the man and I strongly encourage you to meet him if you ever come in for a visit. He's the main reason why I decided to spend the next 13-months at The...
