So let's get into this... I recently went to this store to purchase a few items for my grandmother using her EBT card. I informed the cashier that I was paying with EBT which she said was fine and changed the method of payment so it wouldn't reflect taxes. (No sales tax on food stamps). After leaving I get to my gran's house and noticed that they still charged 3% sales tax which they charged to her card lowering her available balance. I called to inquire why the tax was charged and was informed by someone that yes they charge tax and yes they are allowed to do so. That's illegal... Especially since they charge it to her EBT card. None of the other retailers do it and Georgetown market down the street doesn't do that. I want everyone to be aware of their illegal practices when using EBT at their store.
