Harps Food Stores — Local services in Bentonville

Every year for the past 9 YEARS we get this gift certificate, and every year for the past 9 years I’ve gone to Harps to use it. Apparently this year; “systems are too outdated to use this.” 🤡 ummm no, the only thing not working is anyones motivation to do anything other than the bare minimum…. the most helpful ones were cashiers, not management.

There was no troubleshooting….there was no oh let me call this # that’s prominently displayed on the front that says have the store manager call if they have questions….

…..Is this what happens when old people come and have issues with something?

I can just go to Allen’s, whatevs….. but someone may not be in the position that they can’t just hop over to the next place, what then?

Do you think I want to deal with redeeming it…nah, not really. Are certificates a pain? Yeah….they are….that’s why I go when more people are working than shopping….

We come here all the time, it’s not like we won’t be back, but just like, do better……🤦🏽‍♀️

UPDATE: They asked me to email, I did, and drumroll please…………… NO...

I came in this morning to get some roses 🌹 to put out at my sisters gravesite. They had orange (her favorite color) so I got them. There was a lady, I believe her name was Tina, who was working in the floral department and asked if I needed help finding anything. I told her that I wanted those orange roses and then I asked her if she had any more of these “love sticks 🤷🏼‍♀️” that they sold individually, because I would want to buy one to put with my roses. She said they didn’t sell them individually but she would look and see if she had any laying around in the back and then she said never mind and pulled one out of another arrangement and gave it to me. That small thing meant the world to me and I was so thankful for what she did. I called this evening and spoke with Richard, the store manager, to share this experience with him and he was very genuine and friendly on the call as well. Harps is a great store with amazing...

The store itself is wonderful and the staff are very nice! However this review is specifically for the bakery. My now husband and I placed an order for a small wedding cake and cupcakes for our September wedding back in July, but when my parents arrived at the store on wedding day to pick up the items they were told they were not ready and some items had not even been started. They offered to deliver everything that afternoon for free, but when they arrived at the venue later the cake had no decorations on it even though we had discussed decorations beforehand and shown the decorator pictures of what we wanted. The cake had to be decorated on site at the venue, and they did refund us for the price of the cake. We later found during our cake cutting that the cake was not the correct flavor, we had ordered red velvet and received white/almond cake. We will likely visit the store again but will not place any other orders...
