False and unsafe advertising on what they claim is grilled. Their food on their menu labeled as grilled is actually first breaded and then grilled. Usually, grilled food is grilled and not breaded. So when I saw grilled, I assumed it was not breaded first and then grilled. So, I, a gluten-free person, ordered it and couldn’t eat it. When I addressed the problem, she said she would, according to Waitr, “give me a free appetizer the next time I order.” I have the actual communication with Waitr in my email. The owner did finally offer a refund after I personally called her myself to address the problem. I asked her to, for the safety of gluten-free eaters, to kindly disclose on her menu that she breads the meat before she grills it. Her response literally was that “very little can do no harm. We are confident about this.” Oh my! I really couldn’t believe she actually wrote that in her response to my review. The problem is... a little actually does substantial harm to a celiac person and enough harm to make a gluten-sensitive person very sick. There is a lot of legitimate research as to why “a little flour” actually does a lot of harm. Unless you’re a celiac or gluten-sensitive eater, you probably can’t comprehend the amount of pain and sickness that eating gluten causes. It is quite awful. It is just simply kind and responsible to disclose this. Especially on your menu. If you put that something is grilled, Disclosing that you actually bread it first with even “a little flour” keeps a celiac from literal painful permanent damage and a gluten-sensitive person from being so sick. She finally gave me a refund for my meal, instead of just an offer for a free appetizer the next time I order. I couldn’t eat a single bite of what I ordered because it was floured before grilled. And she still thinks “a little does no harm.” It does. If you need to read the research to be educated as to why this is truly important. I can send it to you. And she still won’t responsibly change her menu to disclose that she breads the meat with flour before grilling it. She obviously truly has no clue how much harm “a little...
Read moreWe came here for Bun Bo Hue (spicy beef noodle) due to an excellent review on google map. When we came, there were 2 customers dining in store. We waited to be seated with 2 more customers who came to pick up their orders. There was no one at front. In the kitchen, there was a staff standing there, talking to other staff but he did not pay any attention to 4 customers waiting here (maybe it was not his job). After 5 minutes, a girl came out and told us to sit anywhere we like and gave us a menu, then she left. We waited for another 10 mins before she was back. In the meantime, there were few customers came in to pickup. There was a guy appearing at the counter. He looked around but he did not care we were so ready to order. His job is collecting the money so he didn’t care anything else. There was another guy came out from the kitchen, he took something from the shelves at the counter, he looked around, but again, he did not care we were so hungry and ready to order. There was no other customers dining in like us, except the two that were already served. Lastly, after 10 mins, the girl showed up to get the order. She apologized for the waiting but it could not reverse our disappointment. We ordered 2 bun bo and some drinks. Then another waiting time that we were so tired to count… She was back with a small dish of bean sprouts for 2 people (you can see far away in the picture is the dish of bean sprouts for 2 servings). We asked for cabbage which should be eaten with Bun Bo. They did not have it. She said it should be put in the bowl (purple cabbage). When she brought the bowls, there was a few slices of purple cabbage as a decoration only. The smell was very good but the taste was weird. Nothing tasted like bun bo except for the color. Beef, noodles, pork… everything was overcooked and too tendered. However the chili oil was very spicy, that helped us finishing the bowl. It was a bad experience from the food, service to atmosphere. With the same price, we can get bun bo at the other place nearby in such a more quantity and quality dish and much better service in such a shorter...
Read moreI never review places. This is my first time but I've been coming here since they opened. I've had great service and great food every time until recently. The last three times that we have come we have had issues. I ordered Pho and got home and hadn't recieved any of the veggies or herbs. I didn't complain. Mistakes happen right?! The second time we placed and paid for to go orders and didnt receive our drink. We waited a long time and finally asked about it they informed us that it wasn't on our ticket and seemed upset to get us it even though we had just paid for it. Today four of us came in and placed to go orders. Again no drink until we asked for it and when we were leaving they gave us a half-filled cup and told us to pour our leftover drink into it. It didn't even fill the cup and they didn't offer to top it off. Then we got home to find several of the items we ordered not in the sacks. We called, told them, and were told that it would be made right. After driving back across town we get out to the car and look and they gave us one missing item and one extra to make up for the inconvenience (which was nice). I went back in and asked about the other missing item. I was told that it was not on my ticket even though I had ordered it but if I wanted to purchase it and wait for them to cook it they would get it for me. I didnt want to wait any longer so I declined. Then once we get home we find that everyone's noodles are all very hard and there's hardly any meat for the large pho. Not sure what has happened to their service or food but I am very disappointed in it now and doubt that we will...
