I have to say, I am very disappointed in this business. I wasn't going to leave a review, but the more I think about the care factor from this establishment the more I am getting frustrated. I booked a party (all the way from Arizona) for my son's 2nd birthday. We were planning to come visit family and friends and have a party for my son. I found this place online, based it on the reviews and booked this back in January. Well with everything going on with Newark Airport recently, I unfortunately couldn't wait until the very last minute to find out if my flight would be canceled, delayed, re-routed. Especially with a 2-yr old. I had too many other people that also needed to know based on traveling. I unfortunately had to cancel my entire trip. I get it's not the establishments fault, but they have 3 weeks to fill in my spot, plus they still have walk in business that will also give them business for the day. There was no compassion from the manager whatsoever. She wanted me to wait until the last minute and then tell her if I needed to cancel. When I already stated I canceled everything and was not going to drag from 2-year-old with the unknown about issues with the airlines coming 3k miles away. Now I am out $300 because of a non-refundable deposit that is out of my hands. I didn't ask the airlines to have issues, but I also didn't expect the manager to not understand why I do not want to risk it. It's not like I was closer and could just drive to NJ. I started taking my daughter to Peek A Boo when she was around 18 months old. From day 1, she's been hooked. 6 months later, she's almost 2 and still loves going! Throughout this time, I've watched her grow and truly come out of her shell! The employees are always super helpful and friendly! They never fail at putting a smile on her face and I love them for it. My daughter sometimes gets bitten by the "shy bug" as we call it and what helps is for her to know people's names. On one of the earlier days of first going there, Amanda was working. My daughter was just starting to talk more. When we checked in, my daughter learned her name. Later on when we were playing, Amanda was out on the floor cleaning. My daughter immediately started saying her name. "Amanda, "Amanda!" She stopped doing what she was doing and started paying attention to her. From that moment on whenever we go, I say, "Do you want to see if your besty is working?" And she knows we're going to Peek a Boo. Amanda is awesome and doesn't hesitate to pay attention to her when she sees my daughter is excited to see her :) Sometimes when we leave it's not the easiest thing to get her to go home. (Terrible two's) Lindsay and Amanda always go above and beyond calming her down and distracting her with stickers and I'm super thankful! Peek a Boo also has a sensory class on Tuesdays and a music class on Fridays. I've brought my daughter to both and it's a ton of fun and great for socializing her. I cannot say enough good things about the experience we just had at this facility! We just finished having my son‘s birthday party and it was literally the easiest birthday party I have ever thrown. The girls that helped with the party were amazing, and I’m so thankful to them! Everything was clean and ready for us when we got there. The girls set up all the food and helped with decorations, which made the experience so stress-free. They even helped clean everything up when the party was over. Everything that I forgot to bring with me they had on hand. Tape, scissors, gloves to put out the food without touching it with their hands, they literally thought of everything and were so helpful! Not only that, but they also helped keep track of time during the party to make sure that we were able to fit everything in, such as activities And when it came time to sing, happy birthday and cut the cake.
