Shed World
Calling it a scam is going a little too far but I can tell you that I wish I never stepped foot at Shed World, nor done any form of business with Tom. I would have never purchased anything from him had I known how he conducts his business, or the run around we would get after the down payment.
First of all, we were promised 3-4 week delivery time. At the 4 week point, I called him to see what the hold up was. Tom then asked me confirm what color shutters I had chosen. In hindsight, I wouldn't be surprised if he hadn't placed my order at that point.
Once the shed actually arrived on the lot, we were delayed 3 different times, totaling 3 more weeks of waiting. During one of the delayed deliveries; I HAD TO CALL HIM 2 Hours after the scheduled delivery, just to find out his deliver guy was in the hospital, or was it that the truck broken down, or was it that his guy was stuck on a bigger job site? I forget what all the excuses were by the end of it, but I honestly don't believe any of them. I don't think he would have even called me to tell me he wouldn't be delivering it that day had I not called to inquire first! Not to mention the 3 days of work we took off to be there during delivery, (my wife works for an electric union: if she doesn't work, she doesn't get paid).
When I asked about any compensation for the run around, I was told "what compensation? You already got it on sale". Sale price or not, with the delays, and the unpaid time off work, I guarantee you we spent WELL over the value of this shed.
Arg! While I can't complain about the quality of the shed, I can certainly say that purchasing at Shed World is more like "purchase at your own risk!" I assure you that we are easy going, just trying to enjoy life kind of people ....and I have NEVER been so frustrated and angry with a company I...
Read moreCan I just say WOW , Andrea was great to deal with friendly and responsive to all my calls , even after hours she responded to all my emails. I also have to say how AMAZING THE DELIVERY process was. I was working with a space of about 8 ft 11 in 13 ft in length. The shed that I ordered what is 8 ft wide 12 foot long. Shedworld let me custom order the shed allowing me to put the doors on both ends of my shed so that I can create a walkthrough shed from the backyard to the front yard. When Dan the delivery guy arrived I quickly noticed there is no way the shed is going to fit in the space because NASA engineers couldn't squeeze the shed into the space. But to my amazement this trailer squatted down and wheels lowered out of the bottom of the trailer horizontally allowing the trailer to drive left and right forward and back and Dan shimmied this shed with only 3 in of space on the fence side and 3 in of space on the house side and not 1 time did the shed touch the house or the fence I was an utter amazement how he navigated this shed into Myspace. I could not have built the shed in this space and have the size shed I wanted there but somehow he got it in there without breaking a sweat. Buying a shed from shed world had to be 1 of the easiest painfree processes I ever encountered.. I will post a picture when I can figure out how to...
Read moreAfter several delivery dates that were cancelled by Shed World, 12/18 was the date we were given (they only deliver 2 days of the week) and we would be the first delivery of the day. As the hours ticked by, no delivery. Called and told it was being delayed since the delivery person took the wrong shed and made a delivery to someone else. Finally at 3:45PM we received a call from the delivery service contracted by Shed World asking about the conditions at the destination. After answering his questions, he determined that he could not make the delivery since there were stones and that the machine would get stuck in the stones and that we would have to pay a hefty price to get it towed out and that he quits at 5.
Another call to Shed World, waited for their call back and it was determined that the delivery would be made, but it would be late. Our landscape architect asked his 4-man team to work late to help out with the delivery. At 5:45PM a lone deliveryman arrives with the 10’x5’ shed. Ends up that if the landscape team did not basically complete the delivery, it never would have been completed.
Bottom line, buyer beware! They take your money and then make you sweat for delivery. I had to threaten legal action and disputing the charge with my credit...
