It was mine and my husband's anniversary and we wanted to try some places around since we recently moved to the Berkeley area. He said Buon Appetito had a dine in side, formally I only knew of it as a pizza/Italian food take out. Don't let the outside fool you, when we mentioned we wanted to dine in we were brought to the left room which was a nice little restaurant side with a gentleman singing. It was quite a lovely surprise! More than likely we reached the very end of the show and dinner rush on a Sunday, so it was us and a few tables who were finishing up and just enjoying the music. The man sang classic pop/jazz/swing music from artists like Frank Sinatra.
The staff was very sweet and nice, very friendly and not pushy. And of course, the food was delicious! The potions were large as well. I like that they keep water out for you to pour into your glass on top of a drink of you wish, as well a soft fresh bread with olive oil and herbs to dip it into, and parmesan. The salad was fresh and light. My husband got the chicken Parm which was huge and delicious, mine was rigatoni in vodka sauce with shrimp. These weren't shrimpy tiny frozen shrimp either- they were fresh and large. Which feels so rare now a days. The sauce was very good. We were too full for dessert sadly.
I highly recommend for a nice dinner! Casual dinning with family, get together with friends, or...
Read moreI wish I could give ZERO stars! There was a wonderful Italian singer this past Friday (11/30/18). He usually sings beautiful Italian songs along with a few American classics. However, I was mortified and unpleasantly surprised when “God Bless America” was requested by a guest. THE OWNER OF THE RESTAURANT TOLD HIM NOT TO SING GOD BLESS AMERICA!!! (Shame on you Anna) Apparently only 1 table in the restaurant did not want to hear the song. It disgusts me that the owner does not take pride in this beautiful country or recognize the sacrifices that were made to live here. What breaks my heart the most is there were two veterans who respectively took off their hats ready to rejoice and listen to this beautiful song. I found this extremely disrespectful to not only the two veterans at the restaurant, but also to all of the families of those to sacrifice for us to live in this country peacefully. I will not be supporting this business ever again! There are way too many other Italian restaurants in the area with better tasting dishes.
Thank you to our veterans and their families who sacrifice for...
Read moreAlthough my husband and I have enjoyed Buon Appetito’s restaurant a few times, I would like to leave a review of the catering that this restaurant provides. Last night we hosted a party of 12 in our home with all the food delivered by Buon Appetito. We ordered penne with vodka sauce, eggplant rollatini, chicken Francese, and a Caesar salad. We also ordered a Sicilian pizza for good measure!! Our order was taken very carefully, and the delivery was courteous and prompt. The food arrived carefully packaged and piping hot. Our guests could not stop raving about the food all night. The portions were very generous per tray, the food was so fresh and flavorful, and the presentation of the entire order helped to make our gathering a great success. Everyone went home with leftovers, and they were thrilled. The large bag of pizza dough style dinner rolls included with the order was greatly enjoyed, too. The courtesy and great cooking by this restaurant’s team made this whole experience so nice for us. The pricing for our order was very fair and so worth it. Thank...
