I consider myself to be a reasonable person. I rarely complain about anything, but there are times when certain actions rise to a level of egregiousness, that it can't be ignored. The salesman Micheal, at Farmer's Furniture in Bessemer is great! If I could give him five stars in particular, I definitely would. He's polite, courteous, respectful, and he truly understands the concept, and the importance of good Customer service. Good Customer service is a key factor that determines the success of a business, and how well it thrives. It can definitely make or break any business. A business can sell it's product or goods, and it doesn't have to be the top of the line, the best product, and the prices maybe higher than other stores. However, If the Customer service is good prior to purchase, at the time of service, and after, people will be loyal to a business, refer others, and continuously be repeated customers, all due to good Customer service. I'm paying on a second purchase of furniture, only because of my positive experience, and the great Customer service, that I received from Michael.
The first set I paid with no problem, but during the second purchase, I experienced a hardship due to Covid. I called and explained my situation, because I pay my bills, and I wanted the store to know that my intentions of keeping my commitment was in good faith. I've been late with some payments, but I've never missed a payment. If I foresee that I will be late, I've always called ahead of time to make arrangements. Although, I've paid as agreed on the arrangements, I too have experienced repeatedly less than courteous and professional interactions, such as derrogatory comments, having the phone being hung up in my face, and paying my bill, by handing my payment directly to the manager, David, and then having my receipt placed on the counter. The rudeness continued, especially after I called and made a formal complaint to the Corporate office.
Intially, when I called to make arrangements, I was told that I wanted preferential treatment, because I wanted to make arrangements, and pay later in the month. I thought that I was asking for the same privilege, as any other customer, who has experienced a hardship, due to unforeseen circumstances, but who has a history of paying their bill, and every intention of fulfilling their obligations. In all my years of doing business, I've never had such an unpleasant encounter, where I was treated so rudely, disrespected, and spoken to in such a condescending manner by management.
And to think! I chose to patronize a business, where I basically pay to be disrespected is beyond appalling. I wish I could make an automated payment, where I could avoid any interactions, because of my negative experience with this company. There are many places that sell furniture. People are repeated customers, and they refer family and friends, because of the experience, not because of the goods and services itself. I can't wait to finally pay my bill in full. Although he was suggestive, he was not pushy or forceful at all, and he even worked late to assist me, which was greatly satisfying, especially since I work until late evenings.
Therefore, a couple of weeks later, I revisited the store when I needed additional furniture items. On my second visit, I was serviced by Carolyn, a true angel in disguise. Carolyn greeted me with a very clear, precise, and joyful tone when I called to inquire regarding my needed items. Carolyn was very informative and accurately provided me with the information I needed, as well as prepared me for the cost and availability of the items that I sought. Again, I work until late evenings and needed to visit the store to shop after work. Needless to say, Carolyn was waiting at the store as planned, and she greeted me with a sincere smile, just as her greeting and patience over the phone had indicated she would. She finalized my purchases and even walked me out, as if I had visited her at her "Home" and was leaving to go to my home.
Time would fail me to attempt to inform of my high standards for customer service. Nevertheless, I shall proceed. I believe that customer service is the main ingredient to any successful business. I believe that customer service is just as important to success as the quantity and quality of products a business may offer. But rest assured they dipped into my account yet again after a lengthy conversation about the last time I had in person about stopping auto debits with the manager and behold it happened again and it's not even my account balance due it is a different number they take from my account and then bc my bank account goes into a negative balance when they do this I have to be charged a 35 fee for that. And they did this again on the weekend(late Saturday Sunday they are closed) where I can not call my bank and cancel it and them. These crooks get you over a barrel then keep you there. They charge you a $200intrest on your bill then the manager also says there is a interest charge daily that occurs. It is a 65' tv and I added an A/C be ccx pause mine just stopped working in the middle of summer.
