Planet Fitness — Local services in Bessemer

Up until today I have been a well respected well received member of planet fitness. I worked out there for many many many years but today they decided to cancel my membership. The reason behind this stemmed from a complaint lodged by another member that I was attempting to help.

They disregarded all the years that I have been a faithful client and simply took the word of this woman who clearly has personal issues and dismissed me. Not only was I a member I made it my business to go out of my way to do anything I could to help the club and not only the members of the club but also the employees.

The way they chose to repay my loyalty and kindness was by taking her word over mine and banishing me from the club. The people who work at the club didn’t make the final decision corporate did. I know people always say don’t pull the race card but in this instance i have no choice but to.

I am a helpful friendly black male who nobody other than this one woman has made a complaint against and they decide to take her word her side over mine in this particular situation. And she just so happens to be a Caucasian woman.

I submit this to you to think on. Think about the number of my ancestors that have been lynched for less. Based on a white womans word my ancestors were lynched and killed regularly. It’s sad to see that Planet Fitness’s corporate office is comfortable continuing that negative legacy.

I can’t tell you what to do, but I sincerely suggest you find a gym other than this one unless you are comfortable with supporting injustice and a legacy of prejudice.

I also neglected to mention on several occasions I stopped other individuals from bashing the club and encouraged them to go to the manager and try to settle their disputes before taking to social media and bashing the club. On one occasion I even acted as mediator between the individual who filed this claim against me and the club when she was displeased and on the verge of quitting the club.

None of this weighed into their decision though before they made their decision. Just another troublesome black man victimizing a white woman let them tell it. It’s cool, God has my back in the end. Be blessed planet fitness. For all those seeking to join just know, this is what loyalty looks...

I don’t normally write reviews but today I will be heard! I went in with good intentions only to come out pissed anddddd I got POLICE called on me. For over a year I had been charged a late fee for $10 every month. Being that I didnt have a primary payment source on file but there was secondary payment that was being pulled from to pay for my membership each month which I still don’t understand why I am receiving a late fee if the membership is AUTOMATICALLY PAID each month. This particular manager told me that she could ONLY refund me $20 for this month fees. I asked for corporates number or someone else to call in order to at least get some of the fees back. She advised me that she could not give me the number that I would have to look it up myself and also she was not obligated to give me her name as well give me information on who I could call that was over her. Her choice of words it what caused me to get rude and loud with her as well as call her what she was acting. I didn’t feel bad to saying what I said because being in a manager position being understanding of a situation instead of jumping to conclusions or even trying to reason with a customer is always the best thing to do. I didnt threaten her at all she just didn’t like my tone. She asked me to leave and when I didn’t she called the police 😂 for one all I asked was for her to do what she advised me she would do before she got smart and took actions in her own way not the company’s way. She banned me from this particular location but it a plenty more outside of this one!! All I want is what’s owed to me I’m basically making a donation without even attending each month, daily or weekly!! I only use treadmill, tan and massage chairs because I was in an accident in October that messed my neck and back up so I can not work out like I would like. Since the accident I have gained 30lbs. I went from 126lb to 157lbs because I can not workout or move around like I could before. But for the price you have everything you need to do all levels of workout Regimens. Downside no personal trainers there early in the morning or anyone at the location to guide you on what would help get the weight off without hurting myself. They have showers with blow dryers and lockers. Great tanning beds but I suggest going to Sally’s to buy your lotion because it is expensive there. $24 a month for all access and a one time fee of $75 per year. The guys at the Bess location check you in but other than that not much help and they have bad attitudes. Like you are a nuisance to them. Just my opinion! One of them is a little nicer but the other needs to find a job he actually likes because no one wants someone negative that early in...
