This is the most incompetent group of people I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with. A package was marked as "delivered" via the tracking website on 2/12/18 at 3:31pm. When I went out to check at 4:00pm, there was no package. I called the next morning and spoke to the supervisor who informed me that he had spoken to the carrier for my address and discovered he had basically lied about having delivered the package. He said that they still had it in their possession, apologized several times, and assured that it would be delivered that day (2/13/18).
The next day came, and there was still no package. I then drove up to the post office as soon as they opened, where I was made to fill out a complaint form explaining in detail what happened. I reiterated to the clerk how upset I was with the whole situation, and asked several times to speak with the postmaster directly. Her exact words were "She's not coming to speak to anyone right now." The clerk went to the back and came back out a while later to say that she couldn't locate my package anywhere. I completed the form, and she promised that the postmaster would give me a call later that day. Five hours later, I called to check on the situation. I was told that the postmaster had stepped out and I could leave a message.
I was so furious, but I somehow managed to calmly explain to the clerk on the phone what was going on. After several minutes on hold, she said she had located the whereabouts of my package. I told her I'd just like to pick it up from the building itself since their carriers clearly don't know what they're doing, and she said she would deliver that message to the carrier and call me when they return it to the store.
At 6pm on 2/14/18, I had a knock at my door from a neighbor who lives on the next block who said that he received my package by mistake. So, a brief recap of these events:
I fully understand that accidents happen, and nobody is perfect. However, this situation is one of many that I've endured from this same post office. There is never a sense of urgency with theses people. Our mail is often not delivered, damaged, or delivered to the wrong house. We also receive packages meant for our neighbors at least once a month. If I could avoid USPS altogether, I would. However, I have no choice. Imagine if this package had been medication. Please, Bessemer...

Have had multiple problems with this local post office to the point I hope the USPS goes out of business or they close this branch.
On multiple times I go long streaks without mail, even junk mail. When I complain about it to the manager(s), which seem to rotate on a daily basis, it gets better for abt a few days then goes right back to where it was. This is so common an occurrence I have just gave up on talking to the mangers about this problem as it serves no purpose outside of wasting my time and breath to even speak to them.
Packages I order, I pay extra to have them shipped via UPS, DHL, or Fedex due packages from USPS either saying could not be delivered due to could not access delivery location or reschedule for what what every reason. While non of this is true as I drive down my drive way more than once a day for multiple reason for work. I have no problem, in my Chevy sonic that is front wheeled drive.
No delivery attempt slip is ever left among have sat at my post office box to see if a package or mail is delivered on the rare day off I have to only get the notification on my cell phone that "access to delivery location" or un-deliverable for what every reason.
Never see a USPS or a any kind of vehicle on my street. What is worse is the few times I have picked up packages at the local post office, due to this problem employees are actively kicking my package across the floor with Fragile labels and tape covering the outside of it.
Have stood at the side door, the one next between the office and interior mail boxes and watched them do so. When asked to speak to the manager among actively asking them why they where doing it. I was brushed off with nothing more then a snark and a look from multiple employees as if they where doing me a favor even taking the time to get it, actively engaging to move their person from where they sat or stood.
Instead of getting a hand truck to move the object or taking the effort to pick it up off the ground. While said packages at most may weight 5lbs or less. I was luck enough that the sender had put allot of bubble wrap and packing peanuts in it as it was a...
Read moreThis area serves part of the McCalla, unincorporated Jefferson Co area. I've been dealing with bad behavior for 2-3 years now. The first thing that happened, is a package came up missing, then arrived empty. No stamp saying "received damaged" at all. Then another came up missing. I contacted the postal inspectors. Villari failed to follow up and never sent the test package.
Later, because my dog (10 inches tall), over 75 feet away behind a fence was barking, the carrier threatens to pepper spray him. I told her, she has no business near that fence, and that she will do no such thing. She said "Interfere, and I'll spray you." About a few weeks later, my dog dies of "respiratory distress." Suspicious circumstances there.
Then of course, there's throwing packages distances in excess of 12 feet, not walking on the porch, leaving packages out in the rain, when the FRONT PORCH IS COVERED. I spoke with Mr. Williams, Postmaster, on this, and he visited. I gave him a tour of the house, and he COUNTED the number of steps and said that he would put in orders to deliver to that porch when raining, because he said it was reasonable. HE ALSO CERTIFIED that my mail box was up to code (as has my fiance - a postal worker at another office).
Guess what. I had a package with electronic equipment left in the rain again. A guy named Earl at the central office advised that the sub carrier knew about the agreement, but didn't honor it. I was supposed to get a call back from the head guy. Never got a call back.
Mr. Williams, postmaster, said that because of the postal workers union, that nothing will ever be done about the abuse of my packages, and the route will always be handled by that carrier. So basically, Mr. Williams committed to doing...
