This grocery store is very sad. I do have to come here a lot due to my b/f living in birdsboro and we usually stop here before I take him home. Now first off, most of the staff are really nice and friendly. Especially in the deli department. Zane who works in it is really awesome, helpful and friendly. If it weren't for the staff in this store I'd give it a 1 star rating. They actually deserve 4 or 5 stars.
As for the store as a whole, it's really pathetically sad. I read the other reviews and they're saying that they have great prices and selection? NO. That couldn't be farther from the truth. When Boyers first opened, they had some amazing sales, naturally of course. When it was done, we realized just how expensive they really are. On average most of their products are 1$ to 2$ more expensive than what you pay at Redners. It adds up especially if you're buying a lot of food. Which then brings me to their selection. Again when we first starting shopping here, I was taken aback with how poor their selection of products are. It's not just the food, it's everything else as well. Usually everything I really need, they don't carry. See being that Birdsboro is a small town, the stores there think they have the customers by the balls and can charge outrageous prices because they know people will pay it because there aren't any other stores closer. You have to go to Exeter or Douglassville for that. So it's if you want cheaper prices then you have to drive out of town to get it. This happened by design not accident.
So my advice for people who want to shop here the first time is, don't do it if you have a way to get to Redners or Giant instead. Save your money. If you must go here, please shop wisely.
One more thing, the women's restroom is often dirty. I walked in a couple times with vomit all over the floor and toilet. I've also seen caps to syringes and dirt that was there from...
Read moreSo i ordered my cake online 5 days ahead to pick up by today. I called in to make sure the correct store received it. My order was received but nothing was right on it. So i told whoever it was on the phone what my order was supposed to be. The desgin was supposed to have car logos or symbols(ford, toyota, ect)and say happy birthday. The baker was unavailable and whoever was on the phone didnt know if they could draw the logos or not. They told me i would be getting a call back the next day. The next day came and i received no call so i called late at night and when i asked about the order i rudely got a "what a bout it". No one was on the same page about my order at all. I repeated what was supposed to be on the order again because it still wasnt right. Whoever on the phone with said my design was possible but qgain the baker wasnt available and the baker was supposed to call me back and confirm. Never did. So i called AGAIN. And this time i was told my cake should be made by friday. I called friday to pick up my order early and they asked me what writing was supposed to be on it. If i hadnt called nothing would have been written on it at all. I walked in to receive my order and as loud as i was speaking behind my mask i was ignored until i was basically yelling at the girl 2ft in front of me. She replied with a "what is it?" When i looked at the cake they had put only put the few logos i had suggested over the phone (4) and sloppily wrote happy birthday. Paid $50 for a cake i couldve made at home. Im not a rude person but yall need to...
Read moreI love Boyer's store for the different variety of items they have. My last few times of purchasing meat from their meat department have not been good. I bought a Rib Roast for Christmas dinner and it was terrible. I've been making this type of prime rib for over 10 years and have to say this has never happened before. It was very tough and just not good quality. I figured it was due to Corona and meat quality just not being the same as it was prior. Yesterday I purchased 2 packs of chicken wings. I got home and went to open the packets and they were both spoiled. I basically threw away $22.00. Bakery and Deli are awesome but will never ever purchase meat from them again. It's a shame also because the butcher that works...
