I have been going to this office for many years. Prior to visiting the Black Mountain office I used to go to the Asheville location. When I heard they had opened a location in Black Mountain I decided to visit there as I lived in Black Mountain at the time. I have since lived as far away as Waynesville and have happily made the almost hour drive to this office. Dr. Hite is amazing and has always treated me with care and respect. Unlike other doctors at other practices he does not just through medications at you until something works or to cover the symptom like a band aid. He listens, treats me with respect and is very upfront and honest about what I need to do to get healthy and stay that way. At my last visit he made a suggestion that may help my type 2 diabetes. Other doctors would have me take pills or insulin for the rest of my life and called it a day. Dr. Hite keeps close watch on my A1C levels and blood sugar. He even feels that all is not lost and that my diabetes may be stopped where it is or even reversed by making corrections to my diet and life style. His excellent advise and recommendations have lead to me losing about 15 pounds in the 14 days I have listened to his instruction. My sugar levels are lower than they have every been. A1C is at 6.2 which is prediabetes and I have never felt better or slept so well in my entire life. Cannot recommend this team and Dr....
Read moreI want to start this off by saying that the doctors and staff at this office are amazing and I have never had any bad experiences with any of them.
With that being said, the procedures followed by the AdventHealth billing department are incredibly unethical and predatory. I have been improperly billed on two separate occasions in the last couple of years. Their system is set up in a way that makes it impossible to resolve a billing dispute.
Despite having a recording from AdventHealth admitting that they overbilled me, I was denied any refund. I actually had to file a Better Business Bureau complaint before they returned the money I was owed.
After a checkup in July of last year, insurance paid for my visit. AdventHealth then decided that they overbilled, so they issued a refund to the insurance company. Now, over a year later, they decided that they shouldn’t have issued that refund. They sent me the bill for that improper refund.
I have spent countless hours fighting AdventHealth’s predatory business practices and I am fed up. I have been going to this office for decades now, but until some major organizational changes are made, I will not...
Read moreI have been a patient at your Black Mountain office for several years. I was sick in December and called to set appoint to see a doctor was told they could not see me until January. I went to Urgent Care the same day and was diagnosed with bronchitis. I had major surgery in January and my nurse from Care Partners called yesterday to have your office call me for appointment or phone me in a prescription. She can hear fluid in my right lung and felt it necessary to have dr. call me. That was yesterday morning around 10 am. (03-09) and no one has called. I understand that your doctors are busy but if I cannot get in to see a doctor when I sick maybe your doctors need to schedule an allotted time each day for patients who are sick and need to be seen that day and not a month out. I hope the patient I have referred to you have gotten better treatment...
