Endless Records — Local services in Bloomsburg

I recently moved back to the area after living all over for the last 20+ years and was so glad to see there was a new record store to replace Mugsy's. Needless to say I really wanted to love this place. However I got a very "comic book guy" vibe from the owner the one and only time I went in. You know what I mean that condescending, looking down his nose at anyone he perceives as a vinyl pleb. I went in looking for a decent used turntable or something new in the $100 range just to play my albums on until I could upgrade to something better later on. He didn't really have much in the used department so I asked if he had the Audio Technica LP-60. He stated he didn't but suggested a crosley that he had in stock for the same price. I politely said thanks but no thanks, I stated I was not a fan of Crosley because of their lack of quality. He then very condescendingly notified me that they were made in the same factory and essentially the same quality. Now I'm not new to collecting albums, I was raised by collectors, I'm in my 40's and probably knew how to handle records before I could wipe my own butt. I've owned turntables ranging from Technics and Numarks to vintage Denons and Pioneers and I will never play my albums on a Crosley. I consider the LP-60 that I was looking for to be a low quality table and is the least expensive/lowest quality table that I would trust my records to, and even then only temporarily. So anyway I thanked him for the recommendation and as I was turning to leave I saw a used LP-60 sitting on a box in front of the register. I didn't examine it closely but it looked intact and functional so I asked about it, at which point he snapped that it's not for sale. The whole experience was just kind of off putting and I felt very insulted by his presumptions about me, and that he treated me like some kind of noob who didn't know what they wanted or what was best for them. At one point in my life I had a personal record collection that would have dwarfed the entire inventory of his store. In any case maybe he was just having a bad day, or was frustrated that he bought a bunch of low quality Crosley tables that he was having a hard time moving, but I haven't been back because of this. It really does sadden and pain me to write this because I love to support local business, especially record stores. I appreciate his passion for records but it is possible to be a record/music nerd (or any type of nerd for that matter) without being condescending and alienating someone who would have been a very regular customer and probably would have spent a lot of money in his store. I was in a good mood when I went in, a terrible mood when I left.

Said I liked their jazz section to the guy working there, but asked if he had any big hitters in the back, he said bluntly ‘No’. Ok I kept shopping. There were 78’s on the floor under the shelves which I started to look at. They were next to other used LPs that had prices. Pulled out a couple 78’s of interest, then as the guy walked by me I asked how much they were. He said bluntly again ‘They’re not for sale’. I said ok, so proceeded to put them back. He then basically yelled again the same line ‘They’re not for sale!’ I explained I’m trying to put them back. I breathed a sigh, he then stared me down. I thought he was going to kick me out of the store.

I’m a big record collector. This is a place I’ll never go into again.

I love this place! They have a great selection of records and the pricing is fair. They also have a wonderful assortment of stickers, enamel pins, keychains, and handmade, local items like masks, mugs, and comics. They also sell a range of record players! I just purchased my first record player the other day so I decided to pop in. They had The Weeknd’s most recent vinyl (which is actually quite hard to find). I bought it and I am so happy with it. I also found some awesome stickers and a mask with the carpet pattern from The Shining. This store is a must-visit for record junkies, horror fans, and pin collectors!
