On one occasion I woke up at three in the morning vomiting uncontrollably. I found myself here, for the first time. Could not stop puking! It was terrible. The nurse was trying to get my information but every time I opened my mouth it wasn't words that was coming out that's for sure. I finally got to my room, after apologizing about a dozen times, and my nurse seemed very displeased.
It was FREEZING in the room and I had to keep asking for blankets. (I felt like a total jerk and kept apologizing). The second, much younger, nurse was way nicer than the first and made me feel comfortable which was great because I was about to be let down by the doctor who came in with a printed off diagnosis of "The Stomach flu" I don't even know.... He didn't even bother. Just came in and diagnosed me without even meeting me prior. Not to mention that I'm almost certain that it was food poisoning because it happened so abruptly and I wasn't feverish at all. I was feeling great until I ate a sketchy looking meat patty. That had to be it.
On a separate occasion I was diagnosed with an Ulcer here after a nurse touched my stomach a few times and had me go on my way. Actually had internal bleeding and had to get a vessel cauterized (after having to leave my university for an entire semester and set me back on my original graduation date because the pain was unbearable).
On ANOTHER occasion (I don't know how I always end up here!) I needed and X-Ray done on my hand after getting hurt at a dance. The lady at the front desk talked to me like I was an idiot. It was a Friday night so I'm pretty sure she thought I was wasted out of my mind. I was dressed for the dance which probably didn't help either. I could see why she would think that too because I was practically rolling on the floor with pain.
After arguing with the lady at front desk about whether or not the xray machines were actually up and running (for about a half hour) a nurse comes out and tells me, "Of Course they're running." Desk lady was going to have me drive home. Everything was "fine" when I had my hand checked here. Got a second x-ray at a different location because I couldn't bend my hand into a fist without it feeling like a bunch of miniature sumo wrestlers were having a dance party on my veins. Turns out tendons were torn and pulled.
If I broke every bone in my body and could only use my jaw I would rather dig my teeth into the grass and drag my useless body home before...
Read moreZero sense of urgency in the emergency room. I have had to come here a few times for myself, my child, and my husband. Each time the front desks acts like you're bothering them when you arrive. Each time you're left waiting for more than an hour just to be seen. Each time I have gone there for myself or my husband has resulted in being there for 12+ hours with little to no communication about what is going on. Their favorite line is "a nurse will be in shortly" and then they never show up. Every single time I have been admitted here I have been told "a nurse will be in shortly" and I'm kept waiting for hours until I have to call someone to remind them that I'm there. When I was admitted for low blood pressure during my pregnancy they kept me there for 16 hours with no food, no communication and it resulted in "we don't know what's wrong, heres the bill" When I brought my 10 month old daughter there with bleeding lip they left us sit there for 2 hours until 11pm to "make sure the surgeon didn't want to give her stiches" on a cut they told me was superficial, yet I still had to sit there and wait for hours for discharge paperwork. These people have zero sense of urgency, absolutely no bedside manner and this hospital should avoided...
Read moreMy husband was at the Bloomsburg hospital 🏥 last night, the nurse at the location said he needed to be transferred to the Danville location by ambulance 🚑 as he has symptoms of a heart attack. She stated there will be a team of specialists waiting to care for him at the Danville location. He got there they took X-ray and blood work with no results after 4 hours. After 12 hours still no results they placed him on blood thinners, in order to keep him there and run up a tab for the insurance company to pay. Then doctor finally came in and said they have emergency patients to work with, they will get to him in some hours, they don’t see nothing wrong. Worst is that he had to leave his car at the Bloomsburg location, the staff at Danville simply give him a taxi number to get back to his car. Waste of time very unprofessional staff Geisinger is only about doing experiments and making money having...
