Wish I can give this zero stars. The owner CIRO is a zero! Waited forever to get appetizers and dinner. The whole restaurant literally cleared out before we got our dinner at night. Wait over one hour. Night started off by the manager saying that we did not have reservations for a certain time when we had proof on our phone that reservation was confirmed at a certain time so he had no choice but to seat us.The food was OK. Dinner was bland. I make better salmon that I buy at Costco. We ordered a bottle of wine and a couple of sips into it. I realized it wasn’t the wine that I ordered and when I looked at the bottle, it was a Merlot instead of the Malbec and I complained about the waitress and said she had made a mistake. She accused us of ordering that particular bottle of wine when we clearly did not. She then brought us the MALBEC wine, which was OK and not worth it’s $46 price tag. After completing our dinner she brought us the check which was $93 and we thought that was a pretty decent price for our dinners. We left her a 20% tip .When we reviewed the bill, we saw that it looked like it was discounted so I went to the owner CIRO and thanked him for the discount that we thought he gave us because of the mishap with the bottle of wine. Boy was I wrong! When we sat down the waitress then came over to us and handed us another check! She told us she forgot to put the bottle of wine on the check. yI told her I just spoke to the owner and thanked him and he did the right thing because of the mishap that we had. Thinking that $46 wouldn’t break his bank. He did the right thing as a restaurant owner. When we called him back over to the table, he said no I have to charge you for the bottle of wine. I replaced it for you. I proceeded to tell him that I went over to him and shook his hand and thanked him for the discount and he looked at me and said you’re welcome so I took that as everything was OK and the first check was what we were going to pay. how can an owner send another check to a table and tell a customer they have to pay that one and not even give a small discount even after knowing what happened? That wasn’t even the only incident in that place with us, but I failed to give a review the first time. Needless to say we will not be returning to that establishment as there are restaurants way better than that one, especially when it comes to the quality of food and especially the service that should be number one. i’m going to make sure my reviews go on every site that I can place them on. I’ve been to lots of restaurants in my line of work and this is one of my top 10 worst right now. i’m sorry I recommended people to go to this restaurant. they are not the same that they were about five years ago. this is what happens when you get too big for your britches. stay away from this establishment. Hope this review...
Read moreWe have been to Positano restaurant for many life events. It is a very good restaurant with authentic and delicious italian food. Unfortunately my daughter flew to visit me that morning. It was the restaurant that she requested. I called them up to discover that they were completely booked and they never over book however if we could come over early before they open they would accommodate us We arrived early and they sat us. I used a wheelchair: no problem Now they don’t have a early bird dinner but they have a daily three course dinner for $32/ person We usually stick to the daily menu. First the wine: no two buck chuck. Only good wine by the glass. Unfortunately it starts at 12 per glass. So sticking to the daily menu and a glass of wine will cost about 50 dollars per person including tax and a tip ( that’s the minimum. We. Once celebrated a friend’s 80 birthday and since he loves good wine, the liquor bill was more expensive than the food bill) but worth it if you are in to good wine Now the. Food. This is a great authentic fantastic italian restaurant. One should diet for a Few day’s. The men cleared their plate. The woman took home doggy bags. Every thing is made from scratch so one may be able to leave out some ingredient or less of some things I had. The best veal meatballs ever. My fiancé had the antipasto. Too much for her to eat. But the men helped out. Some one had the eggplant which made me unhappy as it looked better than mine however all of the antI pasta were great The salads were next. I ordered the Caesar salad which will have anchovies if requested. But must be requested The house salads were good Some one ordered the soup: chick peas and carrots and potatoes. She loved it. However It was a full portion. So she took some home Now the main course. I had a veal chop so large it overflows the plate the salmon was delicious my fiancé had a chicken dish which I will have for dinner tonight as it’s a two breast meal we we’re too full for desert. Read moreDidn't start off very well. My wife who's office is in the same building went there in person to make the reservation. When we arrived, they had no record of the reservation and we were a party of 6 . They accommodated and seated us outside. They now have a huge front patio and a smaller side patio. They pack them in like sardines.
Our waiter was always in a hurry so he stated he was busy. Luckily I brought a bottle of wine knowing they charge $ 25 corkage fee, on the high side. Glad I did because they were way overpriced on the wine list.
I ordered the LINGUINI FRUTTI DI MARE with calamari, mussels, clams, and 1 large shrimp in a marinara sauce. Comes with a choice of Caesar salad or Mixed house salad. The house salad looked like it came from bag and old. Tne FRUTTI DI MARE was just fair.
My tried the POLLO CACCIATORE, chunks of white meat with onion, mushrooms, pepper, and tomatoes, Served a choice of Caesar salad or Mixed house salad and pasta. The pasta is served with garlic & oil or tomato sauce. She thought it was just OK.
The best thing was the dessert, a pistachio tartufo.
