Sue's Buoys & Pies — Local services in Bogue Banks

Friendly lady sitting on her porch selling frozen pies for $20 a piece. Had some oyster crafts, too. Said buoys were inside, but we didn't go. She asked us where we were from, tried to make a personal connection through that (much appreciated) and talked about the weather. Lovely Christian woman.

While vacationing, my wife and I stopped by because we heard this was where we could get good key lime pie, and they were right. It was a graham cracker crust, which we prefer, and the sweet/tart balance and the creamy filling was perfect. We dug straight into it in the car with two forks without even cutting it, and we both loved it. We bought some handpainted oyster shells as souvenirs as well. We guarded the remaining pie in our cooler to ensure it made the trip home safe with us. 😁...

Homemade pies and decorative porch buoys. I only know the pie side of things. I got a key lime and a peanut butter pie. Key. Lime was pretty good but the peanut butter was excellent. I don't think the crusts are homemade but the pie filling is. Sue also usually has pineapple-orange, blueberry, apple, strawberry, & cherry.
