First of all, I would like to say that the management and the staff at the Bonner springs Dollar tree are fantastic. They work hard to provide a friendly clean place where customers can and are welcomed to come in and do shopping. As an employee for almost two years I can definitely say that there is not a single worker, who deserve to be called a racist. I was the assistant manager on duty at the time of the incident that led to the one star review. The reviewer chose to post photos and refer to me by first and last name accusing me of being racist and unprofessional. There were no complaints filed or any accusations of theft reported to the police department The reviewer knows exactly how they behaved and how they allowed their children to behave in the store before the incident. Since they conviently chose not to include that behavior in their review I will respectively not post the details as well. Dollar tree is a business, it is not a playground or play area for you to allow your children to go play unsupervised while you do your shopping. By doing so you are disrespecting other shoppers and store employees, as well as putting your children and others at risk for potential accident or injury. I was not racist nor disrespectful to you at any time,, but I did break store policy by making the mistake of walking out the door behind you into the parking lot after the incident in the store. I never once accused you of theft nor did I block you in any way from leaving. Yes, I did call the police. I believe an apology is needed from me, NOT to the you the reviewer, but to your children. I am sorry that you children witnessed what you might have consider a negative interaction with your mother and the Bonner Springs Police department. As a mother of a police officer myself I know how important it is that young children be exposed to positive interactions with police. Which apparently, is not a high priority to your mother. And I am also sorry that your mother is failing to take the opportunity and responsibility as your parent to teach you respect for other people and property now while you are young. I'm sorry as this may make life more difficult as you get older. As a community member and faithful shopper I believe the Bonner Dollar Tree is the best, and easily...
Read moreI use to love coming to this particular Dollar Tree however, this store has really been lacking in quality customer service. Arrived at this location a little after 9:00 am. Doors were locked and people were moving around inside. Knocked for a moment and finally someone came to the door. They store clerk stated "They have to get the store together". I asked how long would it take to get the store together? The clerk turned around and asked the manager "How long would it take to get the store together?" The manager simply stated "I don't know". Wow.... No apology for the inconvenience or any other explanation. Keep in mind they did not have the consideration to post a sign on the door to let consumers know they are closed. Numerous customers were outside visibly upset. It's almost 9:40 a.m. as I write this review, and this location is still closed. I fully understand some stores having issues due to the pandemic. On the other hand, I refuse to understand how rude people are treating each other these days. When you have a job in customer service, that means you need to perform quality customer service. It's Monday morning. Since this location does not open until 9:00 a.m, arrive at your store ahead of time to get the store together. Furthermore, treat consumers with respect when they come to your door expecting your business to be open. Especially when those same consumers are treating you with respect. In addition, be grateful that consumers are still utilizing and supporting your store, instead of spending their money at some of the big box stores located nearby.
Update August 14, 2022: I could care less about the hours at this location. I just confirmed through a construction team that they are laying the foundation for a New Dollar Tree store in...
Read moreThey have had an abandoned vehicle in their parking lot for over 7 months. It kinda looks like a sketchy location now. It kinda looks like maybe they are doing drug deals or something at the abandoned vehicle. In any event the local police department refuses to address this abandoned vehicle since it is on private property. Dollartree looks like they are happy to potentially let crime operate in their parking lots without any concern by them. I will stay safe and go elsewhere.
The parking lot also has a few small craters that are about the size of a small car. It will eff your car up if you accidentally hit it in the dollartree parking lot.
Update: No less than 3-4 hours after this review and my email to corporate and the abandoned car has been towed. Thanks DollarTree! I am not sure why the Bonner Springs PD would tell me they checked on the abandoned vehicle many times over at last a seven month period and that the PD was well aware of the abandoned vehicle but they could not do anything. Why didn't you just contact the business owner instead of wasting resources to check on an abandoned vehicle for months? Sounds like a ridiculous waste of police resources. When simply reaching out to the business owner can take care of the safety issue the Bonner Springs PD was well aware of and did...
