I am an old Cape Codder and have enjoyed patronizing Cape Cod farmer's markets for over 50 years. My experience at these markets have always been great ๐. I would purchase locally grown veggies, fish, and shellfish. They were absolutely the freshest locally sourced Cape Cod products you could find anywhere, absolutely delicious ๐. However... this no longer exists at the Bass River market. A large portion of the venders do not offer Cape Cod grown/harvested products anymore โน๏ธ. In fact there are a lot of vendors that have no affiliation with Cape Cod at all and come from places like New Bedford, Dighton, Halifax and beyond. There used to be a commercial fishing family selling the most delicious fresh scallops straight from their family boat at the market. They were from Wellfleet or Orleans. About as Cape Cod as you can get and talk about FRESH ! ๐. Now get this , this awesome Cape Cod family operation has been replaced by an off-Cape shellfish company ๐คจ.
