Very clean! Staff keeps individual sites so clean, ive seen them even emptying the soot out of firepits! The bathrooms and shower house is maintained by host campers (who also use those same facilities they clean (awesome idea) there is only 1 main shower house in the second loop, while I was there ( all of last year) the shower house was re-stocked at 6 am AND 6pm (TP filled, soap and trash) and then fully cleaned and hosed out at 11 am every day... so if you want a clean shower, noon is the time to take it ...There are handicapped showers at most bathrooms with dishwashing stations attached, the first loop has showers at every bathroom and no shower house ( I believe ). Campsites are distanced apart nicely, some are very remote, best bet is to pull into the office amd ask to do a drive thru and ask to look at some sites, staff patrols often during the day (on ATV vehicles) and in vehicles at night (not disturbing you), the staff is SOO nice and friendly, and easy to find, simply walk down the street, when you hear the atv coming simply wave at the staff and they will pull over and ask if your ok! With that being said I have NEVER seen or heard a disturbance! every campsite has a firepit, eigher the square kind or the round ones with the grate that lifts up, and some even have standing BBQ grills built in as well as the pit (yes a firepit AND. A standing grill). Group campsites where your whole group can be together in a nice opens area, but away from the single sites are also offered. ALSO stop and shop and a liquor store as well as ice cream shop and the beach is only 5 minutes away (you wouldnt know) there is a small camp store with emergency supplies, like a air pump for your air bed, batteries and milk, bread and eggs, ice and firewood.. its only open convenience hours, and its priced high as well but its very "convenient" to not need to leave the campsite as soon as youve got there and realized youve...
Read moreGorgeous campgrounds, but terrible vibes. We decided to try our luck at this campsite to cook up our quick catch dinner after checking out of another campground. We drove up and requested a place to cook dinner and staff were very kind and offered us a site with a large grill for free to cook up our catch! When we tried to book online all sites were booked, hence our trying our luck at thus place and feeling so lucky considering it was the last day of the season. We quickly learned why there were almost no other campers there, despite the website saying it was full. We started to cook our dinner and as the dark of night fell we all felt a negative energy with dark hooded figures following and watch us. This is a total of 4 adults and 2 dogs feeling this scary negative vibe. The only "sensitive" ones were my bf and I and we said nothing until my sister and the dogs started to react. We were so scared we started to hurry to cook dinner and eat our catch more out of haste than hunger. As the dark grew, none of is would wander more than 50ft away from the group. In fact the dogs went to the car as you can see in the photo. We high tailed it so quickly we understood why there were no campers despite the gorgeous campgrounds. I wanted to love this place, but the energy is way too terrifying once the dark settles in. Staff were super nice, and the site beautiful, but the vibes were terrifying and we would not stay...
Read moreGreat location just over the Sagamore bridge, so good for Cape access with a shorter drive from Boston. I booked one of the few yurts they have available, so this review is only for that area of the park. The smaller 4-person yurts have two sets of twin bunkbeds. The larger yurts have two sets of bunks, queen on bottom, twin on top, and are substantially more roomy inside. All have a table with at least two chairs inside, and ample electrical outlets. Water spout just outside with hose hookup. Outdoors there was a fire pit and a picnic table, and room to park two cars. The yurt itself is made of a durable plastic like material with screened windows that zip closed from the outside. It got hot during the daytime unless I left the shades rolled up.
The park itself is mostly just a forest, with a few trails. No swimming or major outdoor activities, but gets you on the Cape where you can head out to those things. Nice playground and convenient dumping stations for RVs. Camp store had firewood, ice cream, and a few basic supplies - better stocked than other MA state parks I stayed this summer. Do note this isn't far away from the highway and there is a small airport not too far away, so it wasn't peace and quiet. Enjoyed ourselves...
