I will never set foot in this store again. The overall lack of customer service skills among the staff is shocking. Initially, I was thrilled to discover this store nearby, thinking I had found a convenient African store to meet my needs. However, from my very first visit, it became clear that customer support is nonexistent here.

The cashier consistently appears unapproachable, often frowning and making no effort to engage with customers. A simple smile or acknowledgment would go a long way, but that seems too much to ask. On top of that, the waiting lines are unbearably long, with no visible attempt to improve efficiency or customer experience.

This location is, without a doubt, the worst African store I have ever visited. I’d rather drive further to a store where I’m greeted warmly and treated with respect, ensuring my spending feels worthwhile. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this location to anyone. I have never had a bad experience at Afrik in Bowie until today. I went to the butcher area to order meat. The person that took my order was very pleasant, the person that cut my meat was not. His tone was very disrespectful and he demanded that I tip before he even completed my order. I didn’t notice anyone else being asked to tip. I said I didn’t have cash and he said I should buy something extra from the store since I didn’t have cash to tip. I already had bell peppers and onions in my basket.
