PLEASE READ I came with my mother on 4/29/24 around 4:30pm. We were then waited on by a male employee. My mother ordered the grilled shrimp with broccoli and corn while I ordered the half rack of ribs. When I tried to order the mac and cheese as a side the employee quickly stopped me and warned me. He stated that the mac and cheese was poorly made and would taste awful. He claimed he was “saving me the headache”. I substituted for something else instead. When the food came it wasn’t warm. My mother ate one of her shrimps and immediately said that it was stale. She tried eating the rice but it was cold and tasted like it had been left overnight. When I ate a part of my rib all I could taste was burnt meat. So I began to try to pick off the burnt parts however, because it was so burnt there was barely any meat on the bone to eat. They had covered the burnt ribs with a lot of sauce to hide this fact. We waited for a while for our waiter to come back and explain the situation. When he FINALLY came back to check on us I informed him of what happened. He went to go get his manager who later introduced herself as Denise. When I repeated the same information to Denise, she immediately started to argue with me. She was extremely condescending and rude. When I asked for her to remove the ribs from the bill she said no and proceeded to insinuate that I wanted a free meal. She said that I only had two options; 1)Be given a replacement or 2) I pay my bill. She said that at this establishment this was how they prepared their meats and then stated that it would NOT be removed off the bill because I ate a piece. Three other employees came by to intimidate us and then an on staff officer was brought in. He claimed that it was a civil matter and he could not get involved and we explained several times that we would pay our bill but NOT the amount for the ribs. Denise claimed that there was a policy that stated in situations like this they would not alter the bill. My mother then asked to see the policy and Denise said she couldn’t show us because the “policy” was not on display for costumer to see. Then Denise said she was sorry as she could see that the meal was burnt and she could see where we were coming from. She said that she was just following the rules. Then the general manager was brought over and was EXTREMELY RUDE. Before we could explain he snapped and said “This is my establishment either pay your bill or I will have this officer arrest you”. When I questioned the officer on what grounds he could arrest us he stated for “petty theft”. My mother then reminded him that earlier he claimed this was a civil matter and couldn’t get involved but now he’s stating differently. With this threat we felt forced to pay the bill in full.
(I gave them 5 stars so that they wouldn’t delete this but I advise those of you NOT to eat here. I would have given...
Read moreMy friend and I went here with our kids and her younger brother and the service was HORRIBLE. From the time we sat down our server Tasha acted like she was annoyed we sat down. She rolled her eyes multiple times when we were talking to her and after we got our food she only asked us questions as she was walking by our table and never actually stopping which led to her not hearing anything we said or asked for and her acting like we never responded. We gave her some grace b/c it was a holiday and really busy but we were ignored most of the night and given a nasty attitude for no apparent reason. We assumed b/c the restaurant was loud she could not hear us properly when we were responding but if she actually stopped by the table and did not keep trying to talk only while in motion it may have helped. I wasn't ready to put my drink in the first time she asked because I had just come from the bathroom so I guess as my punishment I was never given a drink for my meal nor asked about it again. When we would try to ask for things she would keep walking by the table while making eye contact And not ask or say anything. We were not able to put in refills for the kids drinks, had to ask the busser for our togo bags and the runners for the sauces that were missed and to take back the order that was put in wrong, and as I stated never given an option for me to get a drink. The grace I had given due to the holiday wavered when I saw her actively engaging with her other tables and not giving them the same attitude she gave us. I’m not sure what the issue was but it was uncalled for and ruined the experience. When she refused to come back to the table I guess hoping we would just leave, even though we were waiting for help from her so we could leave, my friend waved down someone in a red shirt for assistance that she assumed was a manager and they also ignored us. My food and the rolls were really good though so that was a plus. I ordered the bone in ribeye and it was cooked perfectly. Again I understand holidays get hectic and have worked in the service industry myself but how we were treated was uncalled for. It seems as if people look at you and assume you wont tip so they don’t make the effort, not realizing their actions are what makes that come into fruition. (We still tipped though begrudgingly). And no the kids were not running wild nor did they create any huge messes if anyone was wondering. I might try them again on a regular night and hope last night was just a fluke but thats just because the food was...
Read moreMy husband and I are frequent visitors of the Texas Roadhouse in Bowie Md. We’ve always had such a great experience there, as a matter of fact we’ve recommended so many of our friends and family there and they too have become frequent visitors as well. However on yesterday, my husband and I had THE MOST WORST, EMBARRASSING, EXPERIENCE EVER!!!! We both ordered steaks, that were supposed to be cooked Medium Well, however they were Well Done, we both to took maybe one or two bites before we both realized that they were not prepared the way we had ordered them. We ofcouse told our waitress and she was very nice about it, she offered us to allow them to make it right however I’m not one to reorder after my food has been returned it’s just a phobia that I have and so does my husband. The waitress sent over a manager and that’s where the trouble started. The manager was very rude and had accused us of eating half of our steaks which was a flat. We told her that we had only taken one or two bites before we returned them, she decided to go back and forth with us and not only that she gave us a bill that was unfitting for what we had eaten, which was our salads and my husband had a Coke Zero, neither one of us had touched our second side dish. Once we got at the front of the restaurant she had the police there waiting for us because she told him that we ate half our food and we were trying to skip out without paying. That lie she told created such a big scene, we asked for her name however she declined to give us her name, we asked for another manager she said that she was the only manager on duty.. It took for things to escalate before another manager came out and pulled my husband and myself aside and asked us to explain to him what was going on, I didn’t like the fact that we were asked what did we have to drink? I was applaud at that question, for the record, my husband and I do not partake in alcoholic beverages, We are Christians and for him to assume and have the audacity to ask us that was very unprofessional. Ultimately, after all the shame and embarrassment with no apologies from either of the managers our bill was on the house as it should’ve been long before all of that drama. My husband and I will never forget our experience nor will we ever visit the Bowie Texas Roadhouse location ever again. Believe me, as sure as I told family and friends the good I will tell them about this bad experience as well. That particular...
