My wife and I went to HOME DEPOT for an Exterior Door Installation. The Associate who helped us was very pleasant. We spoke to him for a while explaining what we wanted, and he set us up for a measurement. A few days later the company who would do the installation came out to measure our front exterior double doors and the exterior side door leading from the garage to the side of the house.. A few days later we went into HOME DEPOT to select our doors and put the order into action...This is where the night mare begins. The same associate put the order together for us was not totally sure during the creation of the order. After Paying for this order, my wife and I thought everything was put into motion. Approximately eleven days go by and we get a call from the Expediter at HOME DEPOT telling us that we have to come in and select other doors because the doors we chose were not impact proof. I said to the Expediter what do you mean, the door we chose was sitting right there on the sales floor with an label reading "IMPACT RESISTANT DOOR AND GLASS". The expediter said she did not know but we had to come in. Since then, my wife and I have been back to this location three other times, speaking to another Associate who said she would help us , but ended up dropping the ball. Her answer was she has three departments to manage and really did not have the time; my wife and I went to this location a total of four times...not to mention the numerous phone calls made and got nothing but a run around. At this time we decided to cancel the order for which I already received a bill for to pay, when nothing was ever done. ..We have had other installations done through HOME DEPOT in the past and were very satisfied. So after a week went by, My wife and I decided to try HOME DEPOT again, thinking it was just the Associates at this location, so we tried a different Location thinking it would be better. We met with an associate in that department, brought the previous paperwork and explained to her the situation. We thought it was fixed but obviously it was not. The Associate at this location dropped the ball as well; never called us back. We made a few calls to this Associate and made two trips to the store...still NOTHING! My wife and I made a total of six trips to both stores, again with numerous phone calls wasting our time. It's strange... Here you have a willing customer that wants to do business with you and give YOU money, and yet you provide such poor customer service. I even took the time to call the manufacturer of the door that was selected just to verify that the door IS available in the size needed. Here the contractor was ready to start the job, paperwork for the permits already completed, my wife and I were ready to start the installation, everyone was on board except HOME DEPOT. All i can say to HOME DEPOT is SHAME ON YOU!! I guess we"ll take our...
Read moreI ordered carpet for my guestroom . The service ended with the sale. Installer arrived and removed old carpet and pad. He put the roll of new padding in the room and went outside to cut the carpet. He returned to tell me there were 3 defects in the carpet and he couldn't "hide" them to install. He left and said he would return when the new carpeting was delivered to the installation company. That was Jan. 19th. After 3 calls to Home Depot and, each time, getting transferred to an "expediter" (voice mail only), I went into the store intending to cancel the order. The "manager" who assisted me advised that, per his computer, the carpet had been delivered to the installer and I was scheduled for a call the following day. Five days later, I received the call. The caller didn't know anything about the job. He asked me to text photos of the empty room. He objected when I advised him his employee had removed the bedroom and closet doors and they would need to be put back. He had to "check" on that. Another week goes by and another rep calls. She is unaware of any of the issues mentioned thus far. I ask he to check about the door issue. Another week goes by. I get a call to schedule. No real explanation. This time, I delayed a week to have the room painted. They're scheduled for tomorrow, March 9th. I called to confirm on Wed. No, they couldn't tell me what time they will arrive. They called to confirm today and, no, they couldn't tell me what time tomorrow. I will NEVER make any purchase requiring installation at Home Depot ever again. I am dreading this installation. If anything else goes wrong I may wind up on the 6 o'clock news! ANY business is only as good as their representatives. Don't be seduced by "interest free" promotions from Home Depot. It's not worth the...
Read moreI went into this Home Depot location to buy some porcelain tile. When I got to the tile section, I realized the tiles I wanted were not within reach, so I asked for assistance. An announcement was made, but after waiting 5–10 minutes, no one showed up. I went to the customer service desk and asked for help again. A second announcement was made, and this time someone showed up after 3–4 minutes. However, the person who came didn’t seem professional at all — no uniform, smelled heavily of cigarettes, and acted like they didn’t really want to help.
The tiles weren’t individually strapped, so they were falling out of the boxes even while placing them on the cart. When I mentioned this, he had no idea how to assist and just stared blankly at me. I asked if he could tape them, and at first he gave a vague answer like “I guess I can try,” which wasn’t reassuring at all. Eventually, I asked if he could just give me the tape so I could do it myself, as the whole thing was turning into a pointless back-and-forth.
It felt like he was just trying to pass time rather than actually help. I told him I’d handle it myself and headed to checkout. When I asked the cashiers for tape, even they acted confused — as if asking for help was something unusual. No one seemed interested in assisting each other, let alone the customers.
Finally, after checking out, I had four porcelain tile boxes on a cart and headed to my car. Nobody offered to help load them. Not once during the entire experience did anyone genuinely ask if I needed help. The customer service overall was very disappointing. Even the return line when I first entered the store was incredibly slow, and no one...
