Quintessentially low-key, coastal FL vibes. It reminds me of Baby's Coffee; my favorite stop in Key West. A nostalgic and understated coastal atmosphere to Willy's instantly portals me to my favorite memories of riding my sunbaked cruiser bike along Smathers Beach.
When I arrived today around 1:30, I was the only customer, and it felt nice to casually lurk around their small store and take in their offerings. The cooler is stacked with everything from fruit cups and overnight oats to homemade protein balls and other smaller, healthier bites. They have a relatively small menu for drinks and lattes, but with their large array of fruit selections, you're not short on customizable options. I ordered their "french toast latte" with coconut milk (at the cashier's suggestion). It was delicious and I'll probably try it with oat or soymilk next time to further enrich the flavor. I also purchased their protein bites and a chicken empanada. The empanada was on the saltier side with a doughy casing, so it made me miss the flaky and balanced flavor of El Bohio's empanadas in Lantana. Next time, I'll probably try one of their breakfast sandwiches; they seem to be popular among other reviewers.
I'm excited to come back with my husband and toddler next time. Their outdoor area is beautifully adorned with plants, seating, and a large play area designed for small kids. I can imagine enjoying an iced coffee on a January afternoon when it's (finally) in the 70s and the sun is overhead while my son plays inside their adorable doll houses. Sounds like a...
Read moreSmall, vibrant, relaxed little cafe that has a small market inside with various juice blends, locally sourced products (pies, chips, dips, limited produce) and more.
Really enjoyed the cafecito that I ordered. The coffee had a nice fruity undertone and packed a strong punch, not masked by too much milk or sweetness like is customary at a lot of larger chain type coffe shops ive found. The dried mangoes from their little market were also quite tasty, i would recommend them. I also ordered an arepa which came with cheese on it. It was an interesting presentation as it was rectangular and already sliced in half and toasted. I would say it was not my favorite iteration of this classic South American dish since I tend to prefer a lighter, fluffier, and a bit moist arepa that is stuffed with the toppings instead of open faced. This one was a bit dense and a tad dry, so it defintely needed the salty cheese on it (which I wish there had been more of)! If able i might suggest to get extra cheese and a meat like ham to really round it out.
I would defintely return to try other menu items like their smoothie. They are worth checking out.
FYI all seating I saw is outdoors so might want to take your stuff to go...
Read moreSince we’re on vacay I wanted to try a local coffee shop and now I’m devastated bc I can’t get it every single day!! They were pretty busy, it was a Monday morning, but they truly looked like they enjoy and appreciated the business coming in! I asked for a recommendation from the sweet girl at the front and got a coconut iced latte and it is to die for, literally the best coffee I’ve ever had and I get coffee everywhere I go lol. Not only that, the service and vibe is unbeatable!! My husband ended up getting the bottled 100% FL coconut water, despite saying he was getting “nothing” but even he was impressed by the local health conscience inventory and the great customer service. The pricing still beats any Starbucks and with much better ingredients, it was $5 for my medium latte. We walked around the plant nursery they have and got to chat with a sweet lady there. We won’t be going anywhere else for our coffees while we’re here! They also have snacks, fruits, really everything! Just do whatever you can to try...
