I just want to preface this by saying The Boiler Room is a Bradenton staple & have some of the best cheesesteaks I’ve ever had. For 3 weeks now, I have tried to get something from this restaurant and every time, I was told they essentially working making anymore food for the night because of one reason or another. I understand being understaffed and super busy, but waiting outside of the drive-thru for 20+ minutes, while also calling to place an order, is patently absurd! Not a single person acknowledges the presence of a customer. Tonight, at this very moment, I tried calling 10-15 times prior to arriving and then promptly went inside to place an order and was told the kitchen is closed. It is 7:52 PM EST and the website states open until 9:00 PM EST? I am beyond disappointed in the customer service at this once greatly adored establishment. I want to give 5 stars but I can’t with the service element that I’ve experienced the last few times I’ve TRIED...
Read moreI placed my order at the window. The cook shoved the 2 Philly cheese steak sandwiches, 2 dozen wings, mushrooms, and onion straws in one bulging bag. He said everything was in the bag. I didn't check. Well not until the containers started opening on my car floor. The bag had tipped over. I pulled over to tidy up the mess. I saw they hadn't given me onion straws, they were onion rings. I called to let them know of the mistake. They knew by the order that it should have been straws. I went back to get them. I was trying to do something special for people in my family. With recently discovered eyeball cancer, radiation treatment, hospital stay, money is tight.I still was able to buy this meal approx.$60. My feeling was, you didn't care about the food you served since you shoved it in a bag. You didn't care about me because you shoved it in a bag. My $60 was nothing to you. The food was cold. Couldn't warm it up. My oven hasn't worked since...
Read moreI went for the first time last week and I have to say that I was quite disappointed. The service and staff were good but the food far from delicious. Being born and raised in Philly I've had more than my share of cheesesteaks and will quickly realize when one isn't that good. The problem that I noticed right away was that the roll was toasted and somewhat burnt. With every bite I was tasting burnt bread, and that killed the sandwich for me. I really couldn't judge the rest of it based on how the burnt roll was taking over the taste of everything, I should've sent it back. Next we have the fries which my friend that I went with raved about. They also tasted funny as if they were freezer burnt or had gone bad. The taste was slightly off/odd and I barely ate any of them. Will I return, maybe??? If I do, I will ask for the roll not...
