I was really sad when I found out they replaced the original Lost River ride. I’ve been riding that one since I was tall enough to do it back in the 90’s. While I still missed it, this one was great. Not nearly as bad as some of these reviews make it out to be. It is under maintenance quite a bit from what I could tell, it *is * a bit rougher, and if you hit it at the wrong time, there will be a line. Advice: hit it right when it opens. For us (visiting in mid-May), it opened at 11 and there was virtually no line. It looks like they also put some pads on the green rails that people were bumping onto, and the seat restraints covering two seats isn’t really an issue if you hold on to the rail in front of you. And yes, just like with the original LR, you WILL get wet. Very. Advice on that: 1) bring a pair of water shoes or flip flops and 2) wear a swim suit underneath your clothes or swim trunks if you’ve got some comfortable ones. Overall:...

Now, if you try to keep your feet up to avoid getting your shoes wet or you think it's cool to throw your hands up in the air like it's a roller coaster, yes some of these comments might be legitimate. But if you actually do what is told to you to do by the automated Loop that is heard over and over before you get on the ride, as well as being told by hosts before you leave the duck, and if you're not following the rules you're reminded by hosts in Towers throughout the ride... if you do what is being asked of you, you will not get hurt. The boats don't need to be balanced, but they do put smaller riders in Middle seats so that they aren't squished when going down the drop. It's not that difficult to follow rules. And if you do so this ride...

Update 8/1/25 Normally one of the smoothest operated rides in the park with the attendant matching group numbers with others to fill the boats and keep the line running. This afternoon it was not happening. Several boats sent with 3-4 people in them. Line was very long with extended periods of time with no movement. The attendant was agitated with something and "arguing or complaining" over the boats rather than focusing on loading the boats. Many of the tubes were past halfway before people were told to board. Ours was nearly off the end before everyone got settled. Not sure how long this was going on but it was the entire time...
