I live in Missouri, but I found out about this place through Google. A website showed me my estimated trade in and OC Buyback had the highest price. I was hesitant but after reading so many reviews I decided to send my phone in.
My phone had one crack across the screen, so we listed the phone with minor damage, and touch still worked. I never got contacted but about 2 days after they received the phone I got paid through PayPal, which was my preferred payment method.
I was really impressed because the price they are offering for my phone went down since they made the offer for mine, and they still honored the original price!
My advice for customers: Don't be a dummy. Mint condition phones are VERY rare. If you select mint condition I'm sure they will look very close. A lot of people get small scratches on phones that they can't even notice, but the scratches are there in certain lighting! Older phones used to burn images into the screen after long periods of use, and you can't see those images unless you are on completely white screens. That's why you see a few bad reviews. People who don't know a lot about phones would look at a phone and list it as mint condition without understanding what that means. But in my case I was pleasantly surprised. As a new customer (and a tech YouTuber) I was very happy with the service I received. The only thing they could have done better is call me after receiving my device. But I did everything online, and they did email me, so I guess that...
Read moreSeriously impressed with the way these guys do business. Over the past couple of weeks I visited many, many places looking to sell my unlocked, personal iPhone 13 Pro. It was in solid condition, and as iPhones retain their value very well over the years I am very aware of what they are worth. Alas, I received some seriously awful quotes from several businesses before arriving at OCBuyBack. They're a good distance away from where I live, but I am so glad I made the drive out there in the end. I called them when I reached a massive traffic jam driving out there, and they were kind enough to wait a few minutes after closing for me to arrive to evaluate my phone. The lady who did so ended up giving me the same quote I saw on their website, no gimmicks or tricks or bait-and-switch whatsoever. I thanked her for her time and returned a few days later after backing up all my data to iCloud. I was a little nervous I'd be told something else this time, but I received the same price I was told earlier! We wiped my phone clean together, and I got my receipt and cash in hand in literally less than 10 minutes. They are located in an unassuming and very cute plaza in Brea surrounded by lots of trees. Plenty of parking. Cannot recommend them enough....
Read moreIf I could rate this company a zero stars I would. They sent me a "tested" and "unlocked" phone. About two weeks after using it, the phone locked itself. Turns out it was a T-Mobile phone and was not unlocked as advertised. My guess is that the phone was stolen, but one thing I am sure of is that it was not tested. If it had been then they would have caught that it was not unlocked. I highly recommend you do not buy a phone here.
Edit: in their response, they claim that "When we received and inspected the device it was unlocked for use on any carrier" then they go on to claim that it became locked after the fact. This is not how phones work, the phone was always locked. It just takes time for the device to recognize that the SIM card is not correct. This means that OCBuyBack did not test the phone upon receiving it because if they had, they would have found that it was locked. Phones do not lock themselves...
