I am disappointed in this business.
I went with them based on a recommendation from a friend and local real estate agent in Summit County.
They were slow in the first measurements but, they offered quality products at a competitive price - higher priced than other bids but, since the products offered were good and they came highly recommended, I went with them anyway.
They did not order the windows in a timely manner. After 6 weeks of waiting, they called to schedule a second measuring. Two weeks after the second measurements, they called to let me know that they would need to adjust their quote by a couple hundred dollars. Not happy with this but, mistakes can be made. I asked them to send me the revised quote. A whopping 12% ($1100) hike in the quote! No apology. No warning.
I called and asked them to cover the difference since it was their mistake. Their sales rep responded the way I had expected any reputable business to respond and told me that they would honor their initial quote.
The next day I received a call and was told that they would not honor the quote. I would need to accept the new quote or they would not order the windows.
This was two months after the initial measurements had been made! And no windows had been ordered!
Is this bait and switch? Poor customer service? Poor quality assurance?
How about all of the above.
After speaking with one of the owners who assured me that there was no way they could cover the cost difference that was entirely their mistake, I decided to find a different company to install windows at my residence.
The cost difference was justified as labor to install a sliding glass door that was mistakenly not added to the initial quote. Cost of the labor - $1100. Wow. That much labor to install a sliding glass door? Think of the math. If a window installer made $100 dollars an hour (which they don't) 11 hours to install a door? Or, maybe two installers at $50 (which they still don't make) an hour - 5 1/2 hours for one door. Really? Wow.
$1100 is the cost of losing a happy customer. And, apparently, the labor cost to install a sliding glass door.
Steer clear of this company. There are...
Read moreThey worked on my house and it was terrible. I wrote out a ten page list of problems and they said they weren't going to do anything else because they thought we were just finding a reason to not pay them. So they sued us and thought the Judge would award them the contract without fixing the problems. They must have had a total rookie donthe work because we had a manager independently report back to the judge how awful the workmanship was, including door locks that wouldn't open without lifting the entire door up until the deadbolt aligned and would unlatch. The judge favored the local company and gave them payment before work was satisfactory, but they spent tons of hours correcting misfit trim and screws have screwed in that ruined doors so bad they had to replace them, too. They recommended a painting company that said they painted the trim, but it was primed in white and they didn't even lift up a brush and said they didn't want to ruin such a nice looking primer because they wouldn't be able to match the original wall color and the paint company didn't have computer matching capabilities and we are talking about Benjamin Moore Paint, a major US retailer. I've never dealt with such rank amatures that think they have a monopoly on such a small town until Lowes rolls into town and if nothing else, keeps the monopolies in check. Thank the Lord for Lowes or this small town would be so rotten, the devil himself would turn himself in for fraud. What a joke these people are and shame on them for the sloppy expensive work they try to pass off as quality. You would think the judge would tell them to shape up, or get out of dodge, but they seem to like trouble more than the truth. And then he tells all the customers he's a Gulf War veteran and expects a red carpet to instantly be planted at his feet while he rides through Jerusalem, I mean, Breckenridge. And he's 10 months in arrears on his payment to us. Skip the drama and local embargos and just go to Lowes in Silverthorne and be glad they stay around with...
Read moreWe built a custom home in Silverthorne and the original quote provided to me was $48,276.56 in the spring of 2015 when construction began. In May 2015 I met with the contractor and 9 windows were eliminated from the architects' plans and at least 6 windows became smaller. Would this not result in a less costly estimate?? Any thinking, honest person would say yes. However we were charged as if NO changes occurred to the window package. We were charged in 2015 $48,507.12 for our windows. Our windows were ordered in May 2015 after changes confirmed by Andersen and my windows were manufactured 6/10/15 and 6/11/15 stamped on the windows. delivered in Aug 2015 to the site. That we were charged improperly is obvious. In Dec 2016 I went to Gregory Door and Window and received the window package quote for $44,000 and when I got home noted we were overcharged in 2015. However when asked a day later why we were overcharged John Gregory refused to answer! My lawyer later asked him about the $44,000 quote and Gregory said he didn't recognize what it was!! Can you believe that? HE GAVE it to me. He opined it "must have been an early quote". BS. The early quote was $48, 276.56 before windows were downsized or eliminated. Run run run from these people. Evidence shows we were overcharged $4000. I told Andersen Windows they should not let this business represent their windows because of what they have done. Update: I see the owner has responded with gibberish. Are you saying the builder is equally as deceptive as you? I won't argue that. You have failed to say 1) why did John Gregory refuse to answer for HIS quote he GAVE to me in person? 2) why would your original quote ( NOT MY QUOTE) not reflect a cost drop with eliminated or smaller windows? Answer that why don't you! I have uncovered a cabal of the corrupt in Summit County and most of them have slithered out of the defunct Myriam Enterprises. This business owes us $4000 but they refuse...
