River Ridge Rentals did a nice job with the overall handling of the reservation of the ski house we rented through them. They gave early information on access to the house and were conveniently available to speak or e-mail with any questions we had before and during our stay. They also set us up with a company that gave recommendations on dining in the Breck area and also handled all of our lift tickets at a discounted rate that couldn't be matched by Breck even with advance purchases. Holli did an excellent job helping out one of us who had an issue with an unexpected issue with a lift ticket. The only negative was that the full rental price including deposit had to be paid pretty far in advance but they were quick about checking out the house and returning the deposit (haven't received it yet, but got their e-mail advising to expect it in 3-5 business days). As far as the house, Snow Meadow Lodge, it's a little worn but overall is a pretty great house for a large group of people. Counting the trundles in 2 bedrooms and the air mattresses and a couch in the billiard room, I'd bet the house could have nicely handled 20 people. There are two large dining tables but our group of 9 only used one. Nice 2 story great room with gas fireplace. The keypad and remote opening heated double garages were a very nice feature in that we never had to clean off the windshield or any other part of the SUVs of ice or snow. The roads into the house and the driveway are all relatively flat, so you could probably get away with a car, instead of the two Explorers we had, as long as there isn't 6 inches of snow to wallow through. About equal distance from Breck and Frisco. Make sure to try out the Blue Spruce Inn in Frisco for steak/lamb/elk dinner. It's an unimpressive old place but delicious food. Red fox and a rabbit frequent the yard but the fox is just looking for free food. Hot tub has formed seating so it's hard to use unless you have enough bodies to displace the water to a high level but it is well heated. We had 4 guys in it at one time and it was ok. Probably could have fit our wives in between us but would have been tight. Pool table is funnily off level but that made for some unique billiard shots. Gas grill worked pretty well with spare tank in garage if needed. Not sure if there was an issue with air leaking windows in two of the upper bedrooms, but they were having a hard time keeping the temp where they wanted it. Overall we liked the place with the exception of the two cold bedrooms but unsure if that was user error or a...
Read moreWe stayed in the Retreat at Lewis Ranch in March 2022. Our overall vacation in Copper Mtn. was wonderful, but our party of 11 was disappointed in this rental, especially considering the cost. While being given an early check-in was great, the property was not clean, and I (as the person who rented it) would have complained immediately had I been the first person in our large party to arrive. The kitchen still had crumbs on the floor and pancake remnants on the griddle from the previous guests. The refrigerator also had lingering spills inside that weren't wiped out. The front door handle didn't work (we couldn't get it to open), and when this was brought to the attention of maintenance (who was called because the hot tub had sand and dirt in it), they said they were aware of it, but made no mention of trying to fix it... The house layout was great, and if maintained and cleaned better, it would have been wonderful. But spending over $8k on a dirty house that seemed a bit rundown definitely didn't sit well with the adults in our group. The location to the slopes was great (although beware there is a LARGE hill to walk up to get to the lift), and we loved being on the green/west side of Copper. This house does not actually back up to the slopes, but there is a row of houses behind it (which I did not realize based on the listing). The shuttle service was very convenient. There were plenty of towels, which was appreciated, but a few extra pillows and blankets would have been nice because the thermostats are locked, and we had a few guests that were cold during the night. Copper Mountain is a fantastic resort overall, and as I stated, we LOVED being on the west/green side of things (especially with little kids), but the cleanliness and maintenance of what was once I'm sure an absolutely gorgeous house was incredibly disappointing. I can't seem to get my review to post to the actual River Ridge Rentals website, but wanted to make sure others were aware of...
Read moreHad a very nice time at Moose on the Loose. Giving it 5 stars. Only a couple minor suggestions below. Overall, it was just like what the listing says it is. Lots of space for 5 adults and 2 kids who both got their own bedroom. Huge garage. Towels everywhere - and very convenient when using the hot tub. Ms Pac Man and the pool table in the loft were a hit. Views from deck were very nice. Well stocked kitchen. Easy check in and check out. On the check out - it was less involved than other VRBOs we had stayed at. Take out the trash, start the dishwasher and put the towels on the laundry room. That's about it. We had an early flight out of Denver so making leaving easy was appreciated. Not really walkable to anywhere but only a couple miles to downtown so trips to the grocery and/or restaurants were easy. Convenient store at the bottom of the hill (just before Rt 9) was helpful. Only suggestions - dedicated BBQ utensils would have been nice. Grill being directly attached to a gas line was nice - never had to worry about running out of fuel. Table in kitchen is kind of worn - several scratches and peeling wax- not an issue - but wanted to make sure we weren't charged with damages. Coffee was a nice touch (Mr Coffee AND a Keurig) but some sweetener would have made the first morning just a but better. that's about it. Overall - very nice. We don't revisit the same places but would feel comfortable recommending to friends and family if they ever visited...
