Got out of my vehicle to pump gas and was verbally assaulted by the gas station attendant. I was on my cell phone with a family member when he opened the door to the store and stood on the sidewalk yelling, “hey, you wanna get off your phone?”
Shocked, I looked up wondering who was yelling. The man pointed at me and continued yelling, “yeah, you. get off your phone. It’s on the sign! Hang up now”.
With my mouth gaping, I stared at him. I responded “okay, thank you…” He went inside after mumbling a reply and proceeded to stare at me through the window with his coworker.
I really felt threatened at this gas station. As a 30 year old woman, I have never been yelled at by a stranger in public like I was pumping gas here. There were people filling their tanks around me and they looked visibly uncomfortable after the scene this man caused.
Upon later research, there is no scientific evidence that cell phones are dangerous at gas pumps. I hope the attendants educate themselves before berating another patron and embarrassing...

I asked the clerk why the store stunk so bad and he proudly proclaimed “because I am a pot head” - unbearable smell!! One can only imagine how his home smells.
