Avoid this place at all costs. We stopped here for a bite to eat after driving down from North Jersey for the start of our family vacation. The place was dead, not much going on. The food took a while to come out, but that was hardly the issue. The issue was when the food came out, most of the dishes weren't hot. Simple dishes were ordered, yet all of them were absolutely disgusting. My clam chowder was so salty, with the clams being right out of a can & not fresh. The crab dip was a greasy, overly cheesy mess and the crab was not fresh either. The fish tacos were hard, overcooked and gross too. Pretty disappointing arriving down the shore & our first seafood meal was garbage. The Kani salad was drenched in sauce and inedible. My cousin tried eating it, then passed it along to my sister and she said the same thing. When we got the bill, we saw that the server accidentally forgot to take off the Kani salad. She had to get manager approval in order to comp a dish off & when Joe the manager came over, we were all shocked at how horrible we were treated by him. He told us, in quote "Yeah I'll take it off, but go somewhere else. Don't come back here". We were shocked, as we were so polite about everything! With 5 of us being in the service industry as well, we we're stunned to say the least on the lack of customer service from the manager himself! The waitress was not the issue, as her and the hostesses seemed mortified by their manager. I told them that I felt bad they had to answer to that man. I asked if he only crawls out of his hole-of-an-office to comp food off checks, and they bowed their heads in silent agreement, implying that this happens often. I would be miserable too if I was a middle aged man managing at a failing restaurant! But the lack of customer service was appalling. Don't worry Joe, we won't ever be returning. And hopefully others will read this review & take it to heart. Because the food was disgusting, but they couldn't even account themselves for decent customer...
Read moreWent to the Cove In Brigantine last night ! My wings were burnt, no buffalo sauce had an ice tea asked twice for sweet and low after ten minutes and a stop at the table my husband went into the bar to get some.

And The topping on the cake was ——The ladies whose food was cold paid for their drinks and left. The boys asked the waitress if they could have her food since she didn’t eat it and they proceeded to put it on their table and enjoy all the free food. I can’t make this up. Oh and the server brings our exact meal to the table again and asked us if we ordered that. So they duplicated our meal and this time the hamburger bun was burnt. We had finished eating it wasn’t for us but apparently so I can’t keep track of orders. So long story short they’re losing money like crazy and service sucks, kitchen sucks. First and last time I will be there . Shame as the premise is nice and...
Read moreI never leave reviews, but my experience at The Cove this week warrants one and may just be the worst service I have ever had in my life.
It was a Monday and a pretty slow evening. After walking past a kitchen full of rowdy teenagers, we were sat. The waitress was clearly very inexperienced, which was truly no issue at all...until it was. We placed our orders. Drinks and an appetizer arrived promptly. My mother ordered a chicken sandwich, my nephew ordered chicken tenders and fries, and my brother, sister-in-law, and I all ordered sushi.
My mother's and nephew's orders arrived in a reasonable time, but our waitress did not mention anything about the rest of our orders. Fine. Shouldn't be much longer, right? 40 minutes later, our waitress returns. "How is everything?" she asks, as we clearly have not received our food. "We're just waiting on our sushi," my sister-in-law says. The waitress says, "Okay," and walks away. She didn’t say she was checking on it or it will be out soon. Nothing. Another 30 minutes go by. My mother and nephew have long finished eating. Still no sign of our waitress.
I finally flag down another waitress and explain that we just want to cancel our orders and go. Our waitress finally comes over, barely says anything about it. No apology. She brings us the bill. Nothing is comped, only our sushi was canceled. So we sat waiting for nearly 1.5 hours to not receive any food or anything to make up for it.
I’m 32 and have worked in food service and hospitality for over a decade in my family business. I understand things happen, trust me. But it is very clear that management has no clue what is happening on the floor or in their kitchens (or worse, they don't care). I will never be back, and I will never recommend this...
