i was a student here last year for the manicuring program. all my classmates were super nice except for one person. my instructor was also very unprofessional and had did not like me because i dress alternative and have tattoos. one day i had asked the instructor for a practice finger and she had told me to give her a moment so i said okay. i went to the bathroom and when i came back into the classroom she approaches me and says “ so why are you mad that i couldn’t give you a practice finger right away so you throw a fit” i stared at her absolutely stunned because i had no idea what she was talking about. all i said to her was that i was never angry and that there was no issue. she then made me sit back down in my seat and then ten minutes later i was sent to the office. she had told the owner that i was throwing a fit when in reality i was having a panic attack and a ptsd episode because of how badly i was being treated when i did nothing wrong. while in the office, the supervisor and the instructor then proceeded to tell me that i was making all the girls uncomfortable which put me into tears. i got written up, and when i came back into the classroom i had apologized to the girls for making them uncomfortable and they had NO IDEA what i was talking about. i finished out the rest of the program, and was lucky to graduate. i am now a licensed nail technician and since then they have not reached out to recommend me to nail salons looking for new people. this was the most traumatizing experience i’ve ever had. do not...
Read moreMy mom and I had a good tour experience back in August with our tour guide at the school for the Esthetics program that they were going to start back up for early September. The women explained the whole process of applying for the program and was told to call right when they opened the day of the applications. I woke up super early and proceeded to call 5 mins prior to opening. I finally got a answer to my call and it happened to be the owner I explained what I was calling for and he wrote down my name and I asked if I was good to go, and that I was in the program and he responded with ‘Yes, you are all set, you will receive a call back in an hour.’ So I waited about an hour and decided to call them because I didn’t receive a call. The same lady that gave me the tour answered the phone and I explained to her that I called and someone picked up and she told me that the ‘Owner’ picked up, and that she had filled all the spots already and ‘didn’t understand what the note was that he left’. So I wasn’t able to get into the esthetician program, even though I was the first one to call. It was very unprofessional of them, and especially the owner as well to now own up to their own mistakes and do things the right way. It was a great experience until this all happened, maybe they need to change how they do things. Not a good experience and definitely will...
Read moreI've been here 2 times now, once a few years ago and then again recently. It is very cheap so that's nice. I have no problems with how my hair has been done. It's a school so just expect it not to be the same as a regular salon, but I actually really enjoyed my most recent color and cut. The problem I have with this place is that the teachers were very demeaning and rude to my stylist right in front of me. It was incredibly uncomfortable. They were berating her for not know what color would look good on my hair or for the fact that she didn't have a plan. Me and her hadn't discussed anything and she hadn't seen my hair before so how would she know? Also, it's a school, the teachers should be helping and quiding these students, not making them feel stupid for asking questions. Every question my stylist asked was met with a rude remark. It was so uncomfortable, I will not be coming back. This is unfortunate because I know these students need people willing to come in and trust them to work on their hair, and I was willing to do that.
These students are spending a ton of money to go here and be taught. If you are looking to attend a cosmetology school, choose a different one. No paying students should have to be...
