Brighton Market — Restaurant in Brighton Charter Township

Pros: Love the staff, the selection, the new building, the fresh food choices, and pizza.

Cons: It's been a couple months now since the new building opened and there's still a lot of things not quite in place, why? Common needs are a walk to the back isles, when less common needs are placed within the first few isles?? (Cat & Dog food, expensive cleaning products and can goods, before 2 liters and mixers??) Parking is a nightmare! And the biggest problem thus far, closing time consistently! One of our reviewers drove from Kensington Apts at 1030pm on a Sat, and 947pm on a Tuesday, (Market is listed online via Google and their website, to close at 10pm Sun-Thurs and 11pm on Fri/Sat) and had to have to keep going 3 miles further, to the Beverage Cellar, which never lets you down on a consistent closing time. At the old building you could show up at 11:10pm on a Friday or Saturday and they'd still be open, now you can end up driving another few miles to get your needs because you never know if the Brighton Market will be open or closed way before its listed closing times, do yourself a favor if its 15 to 30 mins prior to their "closing hours" and just head to the other stores known for closing hours consistently. Or at least call ahead, which is a pain if youre already on the road, and a ridiculous thing to have to do in the...

Just had catering from here for a Christmas party. Overall the food was very good especially the chicken and roasted vegetables. The delivery and setup was 20 minutes after the time I gave.

The problem I had was the difficulty working with the owner. I gave him my menu over a month before the event and requested a per plate price in a week so I could tell those attending the cost to them. Initially the owner was very friendly and said we will work with your budget.

A week later I still had no price so I stopped in and he said he didn’t have it yet. I called several times - finally the owner said around $1200. I reduced the number of servings by 5 in time for adjustments to be made. As of yesterday, the date of the party, I still didn’t have a price. The employee who set up the luncheon did not have the price either. Later by text I got an unitemized bill for over $1200.

I won’t use the market for catering in the future. It shouldn’t be difficult to be given a price up front. Between that and the late delivery it...

I’ve been going to this place for 13 years and ever since they got this new building the food has gone downhill and now I get charged a different price for the same thing the last three times I’ve gone there. I’ve called them out and they have changed the price and apologized when I’m there, but It seems to keep happening I go last week I was told the breadsticks were $.50 and the next time I go they tried to charge me a dollar and now they just charged me $1.50 for the same stuff.
