The appliances were delivered together as it was a bulk purchase. After installation the appliances appeared to be working and set-up as they should be.
To preface, We had plumbing we work done and had our contractor run the line for the ice machine and he would return after the delivery and hook up the line and get it up and working. There had been an issue and we reached back out to blonders to trouble shoot the line and get it working. Prior to the tech coming back out we noticed the left door of the refrigerator wouldn't stay open. OK, we'll discuss it when they get here as they were scheduled, at this point, to come look at the line. They fixed the line, the water is running and there is no leaking perfect! We addressed the issue of door not staying open and the man looked me dead in the eye and said, " put a shim under the leg it should level it out." As we both stood there it total aww of crazy that spilled from this man lips. They cleaned up their things and left. The legs of this refrigerator are adjustable on the front to indeed level it, which should have been done the day it was installed. IF it had been done correctly, which it wasn't because he recommended put a shim. Why wasn't it leveled? Also, it was the same two men who did the initial delivery and installation. In reading the instructions, it was discovered there is a washer that helps set the balance for the door that was included. It must have been discarded in some of the packaging as we never found it. There was a call to blonders regarding the issue and the man on the line seemed shocked when he was informed that there was a missing piece and didn't understand until he read the instructions and agreed. They ordered the plastic washer, and we received a call that we could come and get it, which we did. Because offering to send someone to finish the half assed delivery and install of the refrigerator was too much. My disappointment lies in the fact they were delivered April 26th of this year and weren't installed with the integrity that we are accustomed to and still in the process of getting the door fixed with all the...
Read moreWe have been dealing with Blonder's for about a year. We initially purchased a side by side refrigerator in black for our newly renovated basement. The delivery team arrived on time - as promised & did a remarkable, if not almost unbelievable job carrying it down very steep steps & then squeezing it thru a narrow door with literally a 1/2 inch of space on each side. The fridge looks fantastic & works as designed! This great first impression led us to purchase all stainless steel appliances for a new kitchen, which included a 28 cu ft fridge, a 36" six burner gas oven, a double electric wall oven and a commercial grade exhaust that was customized to accommodate an exterior vent & backslash. During the selection phase, Mark & Dave took the time to look up numerous specs and dimensions for the appliances and ensured the information they passed to us was accurate and up to date. Although we initially were leaning with black matte finishes, both Dave & Mark remained patient, flexible and ever eager to help us in making the right selection for our kitchen design. As soon as they were permitted to do so, Blonder's contacted us during the recent business shut down and quickly delivered our appliances. Upon the completion of our kitchen, we experienced a few minor glitches with the exhaust, fridge & dish washer. Although our biggest challenges came with the management of the service department, Mark stood by us as we dealt with the company by personally intervening & contacting a regional sales rep who was able to cut thru the BS and get our products properly serviced. That superior level of customer loyalty and service has unfortunately become the exception rather than the rule these days - and the folks at Blonder's Appliances not only meet those expectations - they exceed them - period! If a consumer is searching for value, affordability, and highly knowledgeable staff who remain responsive and supportive AFTER the sale is made & the products are delivered, start your search with Blonder's; they've earned our praise the old fashioned way - they...
Read moreAfter being a custom kitchen cabinet maker for over 30 years, this is a first. We recently sent a client to Blonders for multiple appliances. Fridge, range and dishwasher. We have sent clients to them in the past after hearing they were a respectable family run business, which we are also. After selling our client the appliances, they decided to inform her that donât deliver to center city. If she had known that, she probably would have went elsewhere. She decided to give them the business anyway because we told her we would pick up and install them. After installing the dishwasher, she tried using it that night with no luck. Turns out her BRAND NEW dishwasher needed a new control board. Pretty much the brain of the machine. Blonders told her she had to contact GE directly. She asked them for help but they said itâs a manufacturer issue. She reluctantly had to contact GE and they sent a repairman who although he was very nice and professional, didnât speak a word of English. Any conversation had to be through his phone via Google translate. After a couple weeks, he returned with the new control panel. She thought she would finally be able to use her dishwasher. When he turned it on for a test run, the floor became soaked. He found ANOTHER broken part internally. She called Blonders again just requesting they replace it. Didnât want nothing more than a working dishwasher, even though she has had to rearrange her schedule on multiple occasions to meet with the repairman. We donât think itâs too much to expect your brand new appliance to work, or have it replaced if it doesnât. Never heard of such bad...
