Queens Decor — Local services in Bristol

Bad business practices, poor communication, and unending excuses. I cannot recommend less. I ended up paying ~$600 for the below experience.

PRICES: Do not be fooled by the "fair prices" listed on the Queens Decor website. Their delivery driver charges ~$10/mile, so while your order might be relatively affordable, delivery could be more than double. They do offer DIY client pickup, but many of the items they rent are too big to fit in anything but the largest of SUVs or a UHAUL van, which most clients won't have access to.

COMMUNICATION: This business is slow to respond, and when they do, transparency is their last priority. When I first rented my item, I had no idea how expensive delivery would be. Then, when I finally caved to the outrageous delivery price and asked if my item could be delivered by 11:00am, I was simply told "yes." On the day of the event, I waited at my venue as the clock ticked past 11:00am... 11:30am... 12:00pm..., all the while trying my hardest to get in touch with Queens Decor. They didn't answer any of my calls or texts, other than to say they're not available on weekends. The driver didn't arrive until 12:20pm for an event that began at 12:30pm. I was understandably furious. I paid a delivery fee over $350 for this?

Below are some of the bizarre excuses provided by Queens Decor. Some of them don't even make sense—you work in event planning, but then you're not available on weekends? And you're busy on Mondays? Join the rest of the working world!!!

"We are not available on weekends." "This was a last minute accommodation." "Our standard service does not guarantee exact delivery times unless an additional fee is paid." "Apologize for the delayed response, as Monday was our first day back and also one of our busiest days in the showroom."

I try my best to support local woman and BIPOC-owned businesses. That being said, I cannot let this terrible customer service go...

It was a pleasure having Queen Decor provide the decorations for my son’s 5th Jurassic World Theme birthday celebration. Although it was he’s 5th birthday, this was his first party and I couldn’t have asked for a better overall experience. From beginning to end, Queen Decor was professional, friendly and fair. My customised backdrop exceeded my expectations. Loteba (the owner) arrived early on the day of my event ready to decorate. I’m so glad I found Queen Decor. I know any events I have in the future will be executed exactly the way I want (worry free) when using Queen Decor.
