My family and I stopped here for lunch. My mom lives in the area and used to frequent this restaurant. Overall it was an experience from hell. We were on a tight schedule but were willing to wait for great food. After waiting in this restaurant for over an hour, the end result is baffling. Courtney showed us the food. Just based off looks it looked decent. Then I saw the oxtails. Have you ever seen something and just have to keep looking at it? The oxtails cost $26.50. To me it’s not about the price. My wife and I love to spend money on great food. The oxtails were not that. You allegedly get “4” oxtails. It looks like 3 bones and little to no meat. For $26.50?? I felt like I was getting robbed. Not to mention as we are sitting there, there was a couple eating. The service was pretty bad so when Courtney finally came back out the couple asked if the protein was supposed to cold. There were signs but we were too invested at that point. We finally get our food after being so hungry my sister decided to try some dumplings. After confirming the lack of meat on the oxtails, he continued to try to justify the price point of the product. At this point I wasn’t having it. My sister offered me a dumpling. I picked it up and on the 3rd dumpling I saw STEEL from a Brillo pad!!! That was the final straw my family and I walked back in and demanded a refund. That I hope was done correctly. Just save your time! I love to support local black owned businesses. This one however…. Is a no for me. Maybe it was just an off day. I get being understaffed again we didn’t mind waiting but waisting our time was not a part...
Read moreBeen searching for good Caribbean food for a while, specifically jerk style and thought this might be the place; but sadly my quest continues. Ordered the jerk chicken which is a staple to Caribbean food and this fell short on filling that, an ok attempt; but not flavorful as it should be I actually got chicken from the grocery that was closer to jerk style than what I got here. Sorry to bust this place down like this; but if you're calling your food Jamaican jerk style it should at least have some of...
Read moreI was so excited to have jamaican food in my area. I always had to travel back home to Philly to get some jamaican food. When I heard that they were opened I was soo happy and ordered. The oxtail need more favor. Just tasted bland. The other night I was in the mood for beef patties. When my order came the beef patty was half burn and it was like no filling in the patty. So for me this place needs work. Also the steamed cabbage had bad green...
