I went there last month when we moved here and left with nothing because of the steep prices. I honestly didn’t think anything of it at the time, just didn’t find the things I was looking for. As a military family who moves around a lot we tend to get things broken during the move so we like to find second hand things that are sturdy and just need a new home. I decided to bring my son this past Wednesday and looked around again, even he was shocked and asked how they could possibly ask for so much money on items donated. Most if not all of the used furniture items had such steep prices that you would find online and honestly some were overpriced for what you would find online new (lamps over $60, entryway furniture $199.00, very used couches over $500…). Couches that are probably 20 years old and other furniture that was damaged were still way overpriced. I politely asked to of the women who were working at the front desk/checkout how they priced things and they said everyone priced things themselves. It is really bothering me how they are pricing things that people donated at such high price points. People go to these stores for deals and expect to pay less than they would at an antique shop or furniture store. They are more expensive than a darn thrift store! I will be contacting the corporate store as I believe this store should not be operating under this “Habitat for Humanity” name if they are just price gouging. Maybe something will come of it, maybe it won’t, but at least I can say I tried. With many people struggling and barely making it financially these days this is unfortunately not the store for them. I have been to these stores in South Carolina, Florida, Michigan, and Kentucky (a few months ago before I moved), and this is the most overpriced store I have...
Read moreI love the other Restore shops in Tulsa area, but this one is just plain ripping people off. I bought a bathroom vanity which was marked at 49.00 with a big sign over all the bathroom countertops saying 50% off. I got out to my car wondering how my purchase was close to $70.00 upon checking my receipt I was charged full price for the vanity. I went straight back in and told the clerk she had neglected to give me the 50% off price. She said she had to wait for her manager who'd be back in a few hours. This was July, it was 108° plus hear index. I do not live anywhere near this store, yet she expected me to wait in my car for two hours. But it was way too hot. I went back in and gave them my number told them to call me when they figured out how to return my money. A few days later the same clerk called and left a voice mail stating her manager said I could have 19.99 store credit. Not what I wanted, not the extra amount I was charged. So a month or so later when I was in the area I went in and was going to use said credit, and the same clerk was working when I went to check out she said she'd have to talk to her manager before I could have the credit and he was on vacation. I have now been back 4 times and always the same story. I've now decided to have my bank reverse the full amount and take the vanity back to them. I've spent way more in gas and time than they are trying to give me credit that I'm not allowed to use. There is no way to call the store, I have to drive 35+ miles to be told no.
It's a shame as the organization does good things for people, this ...

I use to believe this was a business that was trying to help people in the community. My family has always donated and tried to use the Restore in the past, not after today.
My wife came in and found a table that she liked, payed for it and left so that I can pick up later. When I arrived to pick it up the gentleman who was helping me move it pulled on the top and broke the top off the table. They are telling me that there is nothing they can do. i never even took it out of the store. Even after I offered to have them move the money to a different and more expensive table they refused.
I understand you have to have rigid policies in that business but to treat you customers like garbage, is unlike anything i have ever heard of. I also called into the main office and Chelsea was even worse. Not only was she not concerned, she kept acting like her phone was "accidentally" putting me on hold while I...
