Update: DO NOT USE THIS PHARMACY
After my previous review, we experienced yet another serious issue that could have endangered our childâs life. Due to an error in our doctorâs system, our prescriptions were sent here again. Unfortunately, this Walgreens mishandled the situation once more.
Instead of filling the new antibiotic our child needed, they gave us the old prescription left from the previous incident. This was the very medication that caused an allergic reaction and sent our child to an emergency visit. Thankfully, we caught the mistake before administering it.
When my husband went back to resolve the issue, another customer was there experiencing a similar problem. This level of negligence is dangerous and unacceptableâcheck your prescriptions carefully. Mistakes like these can have deadly consequences.
And Walgreens deal with this issue soon!!
OLD REVIEW: Walgreens is a hit and miss depending on location . Thats for sure, our visit started, on this Ruby Isle in Calhoun location. When we received a notification at 4:50 PM that our 7-month-oldâs emergency antibiotic prescription (submitted at 11am today by our doctor) was ready for pickup. Understanding the urgency, we rushed to the pharmacy and arrived at 4:57 PM, just before their posted closing time of 5 PM. However, our experience at the drive-thru window was disappointing.
When we arrived, two employees at the window seemed to ignore us, despite us pressing the call button. They had already displayed a sign indicating they were closed. At 5:00 PM, one of the employees finally responded, informing us that the pharmacy was closed. We explained the urgency of our situation, but instead of assisting us, she engaged in unprofessional behavior, laughing and speaking with another employee, whose microphone was accidentally left on, allowing us to hear an inappropriate comment about us.
The second employee, approached the window and also told us the pharmacy was closed. Despite repeated explanations from my husband and myself that this was an emergency prescription for an infant and that we had arrived before closing time, we were dismissed. The employee claimed she did not see anyone at the window at 5 PM, which was untrue and understandably frustrating.
We parked and sought help from the store manager, Tammy, who, along with another young woman at the counter, was kind and understanding. They suggested transferring the prescription to the Walgreens in Wauwatosa on Mayfair and North, where Mitch provided exceptional service. Mitch quickly expedited the process, reassuring us with his professionalism and empathy. He turned a stressful situation into a positive experience, and we are deeply grateful for his help.
Tammy also made efforts to gather the names of the employees involved, as they refused to identify themselves. Based on her records, the staff on duty included Rama, Yunna, Adam , Johnny, Julio, and Joleen. The employees in question that mistreated were two young women. This is not the first time this location falls short . To be honest it my fault because I know this ( itâs always been a horrible location) yet I forgot to ask our doctor to transfer the prescription in the stress of everything. But to wait hours to fill a prescription and the. Put it near closing when even our doctor put a rush order⌠and for an infant well that is beyond unprofessional...
Read moreThis Walgreen has clowns for employees working here they are rude, inefficient and unhelpful to the highest extent. They use technicalities to not help you and excuses. The pharmacist I spoke to told me âoh we cannot get to the insurance and we cannot refill the prescription anything else I can do for youâ ? I explained to her we need a single dose to get by tonight for my autistic son who stays awake the whole night without his medication. We were not asking for narcotics just his medication prescribed to him by his doctor and he is on Medicaid and yes you are going to get your money. Then they went on to tell they would have to make a âwhole suspensionâ for one dose and that was not possible. Long story short with zero empathy and care she went on some on with some tutored corporate rant , as to how the single dose was not possible. The bottomline is that with the destruction of the mom and pop stores by these evil corporates this malaise called Walgreen we have gotton used to a substandard experience waiting on the phone for an employee for 20 mins has become the norm and then if you have to talk to a manager thats another 20. Walgreens needs to be isolated and discarded and reduced to bankruptcy- till they value their customers. There are other local pharmacies which will deliver the medications to your home without a fee, do your research they are local. Walgreens you suck and because of you my child will suffer and not in this lifetime will I step in your store. Support local and spread the...
Read moreThe pharmacy and their customer service is actually an abomination. I sat on hold listening to âweâre sorry, our staff is answering other calls. Please hold on and weâll be with you shortlyâ every 23 seconds for 20 minutes. Iâm sure based on these reviews no one was on the other line and these pharmacists were just avoiding the simplest part of their job. To my surprise someone finally answered and was rude right off the bat. One of my prescriptions âneeds actionâ and told me to call the pharmacy, she told me that it wasnât at this one and it was at the other pharmacy on capital drive. I said yes, I understand thatâs where it originally was but I had sent it here today, what is the action needed. She just ignored what I said and kept repeating that this wasnât the right pharmacy. Finally she was able to get it through her pea brain what I was saying and inform me that it couldnât be switched over because itâs a controlled substance. Why it let me try do it in the first place is beyond me. Point is, whoever I spoke to either is slow and was pulled out of class a lot as a kid or just wants to argue with customers.
You can hate your job all you want, but who was the one who chose it? Donât be pissed at me cause you chose the...
