I went to this place yesterday night because there was a misunderstanding with my appointment time at my usual place that's 3 mins up the street from them. I was seen right away by MiMi. The customer service was great. She finished up pretty quickly, which I wasn't mad at. It's when I got home and saw it under my own lights that I saw some imperfections. The paint was laid on thick and I had alot of paint on my skin around the nail. It was two coats and a matte coat. It was giving green seedless grape vibes. I was going to settle with it. Until I got in the shower, all went left. My nails started to bubble more than my soap. Brings me to today's morning shower, it got even worse. Yall, I wore black gloves at work because I was embarrassed. After work, I went to the store and MiMi was outside. She took my hands, saw the issue, and escorted me into the store. She apologized and removed the color. I asked for a new color (cats eye) and was willing to pay for the change. MiMi said she didn't know how to do it, only David did. David had a customer at the time, so he was trying to walk MiMi through it. Mind you, I've been getting cats eye for 5 years straight. I've even started doing my own cats eye until my dryer broke. Anyway. David argued that cats eye will not work without a black basecoat. I did not want the black underneath. Black base is not required. Only with certain looks. The look I wanted was just the color. Anyway, David did not believe me and refuse to do it unless he can use the black base. I asked MiMi if she could at least try so I can prove that it can be done and she refused. At this point, I asked for a refund so I could leave. I had paid 35 and tipped 10. I was willing to let her keep the tip and I just wanted the rest. Because she did the fill in. David wanted to charge me for that which was $25. He only refund me the color which was $10. She still got the $10. (Not mad. She still deserves it) Anywho. I left with my $10 in my naked hands and went straight to my regular guy Andy at (HD Nail Spa). Girl, he didn't ask no questions. He knew I cheated on him but he treated me as if nothing happened. He fixed my shape and repainted them to perfection. I'll never...
Read moreI came to Kathy Nails this evening after work since my nail salon was unexpectedly closed an hour before schedule. I did online research and came across Kathy Nails and there hours mentioned open till 8pm. I rush over and get to the door to see a written sign showing 7pm closing. No big deal I thought it's just after 6pm. I get inside and sit and a gentlemen greets me and ask what service I need. I told him a fill in. He said you have 4 people ahead of you. I said ok. I notice he kept peeking over at me and he eventually says you want to come back tomorrow. I said how long is the wait? He then gets into all these details of every client and what service they are getting. At this point I'm thinking sir just say you dont want my business. I get that places can get overwhelmed with service but if you not only advertise your business to run for specific hours and have plastered on your door walk ins welcome you should be willing and ready to provide a service as advertised otherwise go by appointment only. It's not like I walked in 5 minutes before closing. Come back tomorrow? Absolutely not. I'll find a business that keeps customers informed by posting updates to their hours online, available as listed based on the business hours advertised and overall professional and proper business etiquette when engaging with a...
Read moreMy nails were beyond a mess and I wish I would have taken pictures before I let them fix it the FIRST time because there was acrylic all around my nails and on my skin. The nails themselves were uneven and chunky. They had to be completely filled down and repainted. I went back again because my nails were lifting at the tip badly (it had been like that since the day after I went and had said something about it the first time but was told it wasnt bad) it was so much worse and on several nails. Still, I was told it was normal because that's where my nail grows... pretty sure they grow at the bed of the nail and never in my experience have I ever had this issue but okay. She tried to tell me she just needed to "clean" it with a small dremel she wanted to out between my natural and the fake nail! Which would ruin both nails more! Needless to say I went elsewhere, confirmed it was not normal for the nail to do that, had to pay to get them all removed and redone. Very...
