I first saw the folks from Threads Run Thru It in action at a quilt show about three years ago. I liked the way they interacted with people and decided if I was ever able to realize my dream of having a quality quilter, I would look them up.
In February of this year, I contacted Lori and after I shared my list of "had to haves" and "would like to haves," she suggested a 22" Statler retrofit. We set a target delivery for April.
My husband doubled the size of my sewing room so I had enough room for the 12' table and in April, Jon and Gerry delivered my new quilter. They pulled it piece by piece through the upstairs studio window and then set it up and checked the system and stitch out. In just two hours, I was ready to load my first quilt! It was really rather amazing to see it being put together!
The pandemic meant there would not be a hands-on training session but since I had prior experience using a Statler, Emily tailored a one-on-one video session with me to fit my needs. She was attentive, friendly, knowledgeable and fully supportive.

Read moreVery helpful! Some of best quilting fabric prices around. My wife used to go to them when they were about an hour drive away. More recently they moved closer to town, now they are on Wards Road across from Hyland Heights Baptist. They carry several brands but noteworthy for us is that they have HandiQuilter longarms. We researched the brand, found them to be solid, and bought a good used machine. They have a qualified tech, Lance, who did a great job servicing our machine and giving good practical advice. Emily inside the shop is incredibly helpful as my wife transitioned to quilting her own quilts after years of piecing then sending the larger ones out to someone else to quilt. Emily for the win! We are looking forward to their HandiQuilter class when the bring HQ's Education staff from Utah to LYH for a 2 day training event. This is now our go to place for everything quilt related....
Read moreI pre-order parts at the suggestion of the service professional Jerry Shrieves, and he ended up using all those parts and a few more. Everyone I spoke to on the phone were extremely helpful. Jerry worked magic on my machine, a Starlet Optimum. In the 3 hours, or so, that he was here, he wore a mask the entire time. He fixed so many little issues, I don't even know them all. He found several serious issues from the pitiful delivery and (lack of proper) set up from several years ago from a company no longer in business in North Carolina. My machine runs so much better now. I have every intention of continuing to work with this business and Jerry...
