So have to say this is my second worst experience here at the drug store! First time was 2 weeks ago when my husband was asked to take his service dog out of the establishment. ADA federal law states that my husband is to have access to all public areas. We promptly showed the owner her certification and she said we were aloud to stay ADA law also states that business owners are only aloud to ask 2 questions is it a service dog and what task do they preform for you. Cami was marked as a service dog. Second time was this evening my family was in town it took 56 mins for a order of wings to come out. 3 out of the 4 sandwich’s were wrong and were sent back fries were overly greasy and not cooked. Table was dirty upon arrival and broke several serve safe practices when cleaning table. We had two silverware packets for 7 people no extra napkins... refills were only given once. Over all experience was horrible food was worse than that. When I went to the owner about complaints she had a snarky attitude, rolling her eyes and interrupting me. She did nothing to make the situation right. Mindful my husband and I are locals like up the street and spend between 30 to 100 bucks a week there. I told her very bluntly that she would be losing a local and regular. She said that she didn’t care. Service was so terrible I didn’t leave tip with being a server/bartender General management of serval different restaurants it’s very unlike me because the majority of the time it’s not the servers fault, but it was that bad! When I went to go check out owner said sly that she would get her servers hers. I definitely pulled cash out to pay my bill and left. My family from NJ was disgusted. Drug store will not have to worry about me walking through...
Read moreFirst time visiting this establishment after my husband raved about the food and ownership and it was a horrible experience from the food to the customer service and the cook. There was one other couple there and it took 10 minutes to take our drink order. We ordered 2 tall beers and after waiting another 10-15 minutes our beer came. One was a tall and one was not. The waitress said she was going to bring another beer to make up for it not being a tall. We never got the second beer. My husband ordered a steak medium. It came out medium well. Slightly pink in the center. He told the waitress it was not cooked properly and the cook came out laughing, telling him if he cooked it anymore it would be well done. He told him he didn’t want it more done but more pink in the center. The cook walked away laughing. My husband did not feel comfortable getting the replacement for him so he told the waitress he did not want the entree. I got a to go box and he went to pay for the check. The cook then comes out with a new entree and my husband said I don’t want it. We are just paying and leaving. The cook got rude and disrespectful slamming the plate in the counter still laughing. My husband was speaking to another employee he knew and the waitress told him he needed to to leave. My husband called the owner to make him aware of the experience we had in his establishment and he never even apologized. He said he would talk to the employees and that was all! We will never go back to this place. They were rude, disrespectful, and very unprofessional. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Please choose another restaurant, they do not know how to...
Read moreWe came to Brookneal for my grandson's away basketball game on a Saturday and found this place in a Google search to celebrate my birthday after the game. Everything we ordered was absolutely fantastic. The presentation was great, servings were so huge and we were so stuffed we didn't even have room for dessert, which says a lot because we all love cheesecake and dessert is our favorite part of a meal! I would have rated the food even higher if the scale went higher. I gave the atmosphere and the service 4 stars only because there was just one waitress who was precious, but service was slow because she was all by herself, not her fault. I had read the history of the place and expected a better atmosphere, but it was pretty plain and I was a little disappointed about that, but all in all we had a great time and would absolutely go back there. My husband had a burger and a cup of potato soup and he said it was the best burger he had ever had, and the soup was better than his favorite potato soup elsewhere. My daughter had fried green tomatoes that came with the best pimento cheese I've ever had (she knows I love it so she shared) and my grandson had a burger that he also said was the best he ever had. I had sweet potato fries that came with cinnamon butter on the side. My husband was hoping I would take some fries home and was disappointed the I ate them all! We got other stuff but I can't remember everything. Brookneal is a small town that was a long ride for us on beautiful country roads off the beaten path, and we would not have ordinarily happened upon it if it hadn't been for the basketball game, so I am grateful we discovered...
