I have lived in the area for a year and in the Broomfield P.O. area for three months. I have visited this branch a total of three times so far. My first two visits were to ship packages from the customer service counter and my third visit was after hours to drop off outgoing letters from inside the lobby; conditions were consistent each visit. The parking lot provided ample parking and was clean, as was the building's exterior and entryway. The lobby was not well maintained. The Priority and Express Mail shipping centers were very poorly stocked, almost completely empty, and what scraps remained were scattered around contributing to the lobby's general state of disarray.ADVISE: do not go unprepared to this location and expect free Priority or Express Mail materials to be readily available as they should be. Customer service was good; clerks were polite and helpful. My father retired after 28 years as a postal clerk, so I know how hectic it can be and that is why my review is honest and fair. Our postal carrier situation is very bad. We live in a nice apt. community where we have to pay a little more for good service and nice amenities. However, the common citizen cannot pay a little more for better, more efficient, dependable government services. We have twice received "sorry we missed you" notices (although they do not actually attempt to deliver packages to doorstep) instructing us to retrieve our package from the leasing office...where there is no package. We have what seem like enough larger parcel lockers (12 I think) to accommodate larger items or we should expect them delivered to office. However, on one occasion recently a small flat rate padded priority envelope forced into a semi-circle shape and forcefully stuffed into our regular box! The item was a gift to my teen from her only surviving grandmother; collector's paperback animated series as thick as half a phone book that is now permanently creased where the pages were bent near spine and shows scrapes on some edges where the packaging tore during the forceful fit. I don't know if that was ignorance or laziness, but it was definitely a thoughtless choice made by the carrier. My husband has been back and forth regarding our missing packages issue for weeks on end, but we are essentially getting the S.O.L. because there was no tracking information. ADVICE: use (at very least the cheapest) delivery confirmation (85cents?) or signature return receipt, certified when shipping with USPS....
Read moreI went in around 12 and it was pretty busy but as expected from past visits. I was mailing a ring back to the sender I bought from and the smallest shipping method I found was the flat rate priority box for 7.20. I was having issues with putting it together so I held onto it until I reached the counter. I let the woman working know that I needed to mail a ring which was in a ring box and asked if there was anything smaller to ship it in. She told me there was nothing else except a small bubble envelope and I asked if she had any behind her desk, and she told me to go get it from behind me. Which means I would of have to get the envelope and return to the long line to wait. I told her nevermind and then asked if she could help put the box together because it wasn't staying closed for me. She was very forceful and yanked it from my hands to put it together. While doing this, she ripped off one of the box flaps that held it closed. I asked if this was going to stay closed and she told me I can tape it if I want to. Not only did she ruin the box but she was extremely rude about it. They keep tape on their desks at this location and watched me struggle to work the tape holder to close the box. I initially pulled off the tip of the tape as it wasn't sticky and set it on the counter while I tried to keep getting the tape on my box. She ripped the tape off the counter and told me to throw the tape in the trash and not on the counter, as I was still taping. I let her know there wasn't a trash right there and she said well they are all around the building. Mind you I would have thrown it away when I left however she was extremely rude to me. After finally taping my box, this woman asked me if my package was fragile or had anything in it that was flammable or breakable and I said yes. Upon paying she grabs my small box and THROWS it on top of a pile of boxes. I will most definitely be contacting corporate with her name and this situation, as this behavior is not okay. Every single time the employees are beyond rude and unhelpful and if you hate your job that much then leave, don't make others miserable. I as a young adult should not have to tell an old woman how to treat people in a customer service based job. This location is highly unprofessional and I would not go here unless you HAVE to. It baffles me that this location even has more...
Read moreI changed my name and my new social security card was sent out. I signed up for delivery notifications and I had a scanned picture saying it would be delivered Feb. 3. These notices come via email delivery, I signed up for this service 2 years ago. It's never been wrong... until now. (I guess) My SS card never came on that day. I placed a post it note in my mailbox with my new name on it. On Feb 4, no card so I physically went to the post office to inquire on Feb 5. The second I mentioned the delivery notices, all went on the defensive. I asked the desk worker to just check to see if they had it in the office somewhere and the front desk perosn asked if I wanted a supervisor? I said "sure." The supervisor flew around the corner and started yelling at me to "read the email disclosures" that it may take 10 days to recieve the items on the notifications. I just wanted them to check to see if they had my card? Which she said she did, but only looked for a minute or 2, before she said they didn't have it and that I needed to wait 10 days. I called today Feb 12. Once again the second I mentioned delivery notice the employee that answered the phone cut me off and said I needed to wait 10 days, and hung up on me. I called again and spoke to Josh. Same thing I mentioned the delivery notice and he overtalked me to tell me that it takes 10 days, I told him it's day 9. Then he said its not a trackable item and then the call disconnected. I guess I will have to contact the Social Security office and tell them the post office lost my card... worst customer service ever. Don't go here. Not recommended. And if you have delivery notices, mention it last when they...
