Have you ever walked into a business and got an immediate strange vibe/feeling as soon as you walked in? I did here. So I went into the store with 3 returns from Amazon. There were 3 small items in the 3 padded envelopes they came in but not sealed. I had the return labels that were printed out. After 5 minutes of waiting for another customer to finish the lady behind the counter (Cheryl the owner I think) then walks off. (It would have been nice to be acknowledged before she walked away but OK. Not a big deal) She comes back a few minutes later. I explained that I had 3 returns from Amazon. (This is when I first noticed her attitude towards me and this got worse as the conversation progressed) The lady behind the counter (Cheryl the owner I think) took my 3 envelopes and began setting these up when she asked something about packaging. I did not hear exactly what she said so I looked at here confused. She then said It would be $1.00 each to repackage. She also stated that packages are supposed to completely sealed before to get to the store. Once again I was confused because according to Amazon everything was supposed to be taken care of and all I had to do is drop it off at any UPS store or depot. So I simply stated to her that these are returns and shipping is already paid. I ask, Why are you asking for $3.00. She stated that the store was a franchise owned my a member in the community and was trying to re-coop costs. So I told her that I don't feel I should pay her to repackage. (All they need was a few pieces of tape and it didn't need repackaging and after her unprofessional demeanor there was no way I was going to give her a penny.) At which time I was told in a most rude/unprofessional way that I could go to the UPS depot. So I told them to go "expletive" themselves. So I literally drove to Taylor Depot about 10 mins away. I handed them the envelopes.....they used tape to seal envelopes and in 3 minutes I was out the door with no money spent and no attitude. The guy even thanked me for my business!
First off, I need to say that I am embarrassed at myself for letting them get the best of me and angering me to the point of cussing at her. Even though I was treated like a second class citizen by them I shouldn't have said that.
Cheryl......If you cant treat the people that come into your store with respect maybe you should not be in a business that requires such a level of customer service. I came to your store for a return. I understand that you are not making any money off my return......but I am still a customer. If you would have handled the situation with me differently and not have treated me like I was unworthy of your time..... I would have given you the $3. But now not only did you not get the $3 but you don"t get my business in the future. So how did that work...
   Read moreBoth the stores in Wyandotte and Brownstown are extremely petty. For example (Brownstown location), I was asked that I not tape my packages up inside of the store because "...it's too noisy and I have to lean in to hear the customers." So wait, I cannot prepare my package for shipping at a UPS shipping store? REALLY?! My second example from yesterday (Wyandotte location 2/25) I again needed to prepare my files for shipping. I was told that, "From this point forward, you are no longer allowed to bring your tape gun into the store for safety reasons. If you cut yourself, you could sue us." đ” That was LITERALLY what I was told. I looked at these people as if they had said to me that the earth was flat. My reason for preparing packages inside of the store is because I cannot prepare them inside my car and also inside of every other shipping store I have ever visited, not a single employee has ever given me grief. The only reason I visit both locations is because I ship almost daily and my company, a majority of the time, receives the packages the following business day. Plus, if I go anywhere else, the UPS shipments are usually picked up by 4pm. Sometimes, I miss that window due to the nature of my work. I wish I did not have to deal with these petty franchise locations/owners but they are the only game in town unfortunately. I mean, look at the ratings of this location.    Read moreAbsolutely not surprised how terrible the reviews are for this location. I went in today to drop off six heavy boxes that needed labels added on. I bought my own tape and added labels myself. I was told the boxes need to be scanned in and to leave them in front of the counter when I asked where to put them. This is what the manager told me. When I finished with the boxes, no one would scan them in for me. I asked one of their employees, ADENTE to scan them in for me. He told me to pick up each box and put it on the scale. He was very rude in his tone to me. When I said are you kidding me? He said yes maâam every box has to go on the scale. He continued trying to tell me that I came in unprepared to ship my boxes and itâs not his problem that I did not put the boxes where they were supposed to be. He was rude to me and only in front of a lobby full of people, but also in front of his manager who did absolutely nothing. You continue to argue and be rude to me until I asked for his name in which he screamed the spelling of his name to me. He then told me my words mean nothing online to him.
