Las Palmas Apartments — Local services in Brownsville

We've been living in several apartments in both Florida and Texas. We don't think we can find better place to live than this one. The apartment itself is new, clean, spacious and insect-free!!! In our 8 months living there, we did see three small roaches which probably sneaked in from the garden when we left the screen door open since they didn’t look anything like the home insects we used to see in our old apartments. Facilities were awesome. The gated community was very safe. The apartments happened to locate aside a super beautiful and peaceful neighborhood. My husband enjoyed running outside every afternoon. I was a fan of the gym which had plenty of equipment and was not crowded when I came every day from 3 to 5pm. The business office opened 247 with 2 computers, printers, and loads of papers which was our getaway when the internet service at home was not working. The swimming pool was clean, there were a lot trees surrounded. I just knew that the service man had to work really efficiently to keep it clean and free from sediments, consider how windy it always was in Brownsville. Maintenance services were more than what we could wish for. Our AC was broken on the very last day we lived there and we had it fixed within an hour by Mr. Leonee. We really appreciated it, otherwise we had to pack our stuffs, getting all sweaty and sticky in an extremely hot summer day. No matter how new and good the facilities are, things can go wrong anywhere and we appreciate the fast repair maintenance that have everything (washing machine, food disposal, …) fixed within hours. Lastly, Sonia (manager) and Pauline. I did not have much chance talking to Sonia but she lived in the same neighborhood and was very friendly to everyone. Pauline was my favorite person of all time. She was just genuinely nice, never saying no to us. I bet she did same thing to everyone. For everything that we asked for, she always did the best to make it work. Together, they had created many community activities like the Free Barbecue Fridays or Saturday Yard Sale… We did not really feel like we were renting an apartment, but more like we were just living in our own sweet home with the assistance of very nice neighbors who were willing to go extra miles to help us. Even when we got out of our contract halfway due to an unexpected event, our moving experience was exceptionally smooth and we did save a lot of money with the help of Sonia, Pauline, and a moving gentleman whom Mr. Leonee introduced to us. All in all, this is the best place to call home. They really set my expectation high for our next place to live in. I knew there were some people living there for over 10 years and I am not surprise. I have had an unacceptable experience with Las Palmas in my first month here. I moved in, and the apartment was not cleaned/prepared from the previous tenant. There was a garbage can from housecleaning indicating some cleaning ongoing at some point, but dirt all over the hardwood floors. There were no stovetops. There was no microwave. There were holes in a cabinet where a microwave once was. The dryer was broken. The dishwasher was broken. They gave me the wrong keys. It has been a month and they have now replaced the keys, done a poor job cleaning the floors (I had to clean over them, scrubbing out issues from previous tenant), installed a microwave and stovetop. They have not fixed the holes in the cabinet. They just cleaned the pipes of the dryer to attempt to improve it's function, and they littered lint ALL OVER the living room doing it - that was the last straw. I already spent time cleaning once when I moved in because the apartment wasn't clean, now I have to clean after the management another time! I have been renting at the Las Palmas Apartments for almost a year now and currently at the end of my lease. Out of all the locations I have stayed at in the past years prior to renting at Las Palmas I have not experienced the management and staff be so willing to help out their tenants.

Ms. Sonia Munoz who is the current Property Manager/RGV Area Manager has on many occasions worked with me in regards to any late fee or dues I fell behind on due to personal issues and she was willing and able to work with me to create a solution to resolve any issues.. It is clear that she truly cares for her tenants and the well being of the property.

The maintenance staff is also always on call and any apartment issues that you may have get resolved asap!. I had an issue with my thermostat at one point and it was resolved within the day. The area is quiet and I have never had an issues with any loud noises. The entire complex is inside a gated area and the vehicles are secured. Not too mention there is a courtesy officer on site.

Last but not least they allow you to have pets! No complaints from my Husky: ).

All in all I would highly recommend this place to any...
