De La Rosa Seafood Kitchen — Restaurant in Brownsville

A little hole in the wall that had surprisingly delicious food! Visiting Brownsville and someone suggested trying this place out and I'm so glad we did. It's very small and more like a drive through restaurant and I was a little put off because the menu was mostly in Spanish but the owner was really friendly and after asking a few questions he suggested a spicy dish (that I don't remember the name of LOL) and it was soooooooo good! It had fish and shrimp with vegetables in a spicy broth in a tin foil with rice and a half avocado on the side. And since he wasn't busy at the time gave us 2 complimentary fish soups that were so good I ate both. I'm not a big fish soup lover but I could eat that everyday. New Seafood restaurants are opening up on almost every corner in Brownsville. This seafood restaurant has a historic family legacy going back decades from its origin in Matamoros. The son of the original owner inherited the business and remodeled it, but was forced to relocate here after the Cartel threatened him and his family at gunpoint until he surrendered the property to them. The food was always superb to any competition and served only fresh Gulf seafood. Times have changed and the restaurant is not the same. The food is delicious and well made. This small cozy resturant provides a relaxing environment. The meals are delivered in record time hot and fresh. The. Server is an expert in his field, as evident of the server providing timely refillls and removing unwanted dish ware. The chef needs to )8 e commended for providing a 5 Star meal in such a homey establisment. I can't wait to return and take my family. I am hooping for...
