Bad business, bad ownership, really tarnishes UPS's name. I've rated these folks 1 star before. I typically take down bad reviews after awhile to give businesses opportunity to improve and not have old reviews hanging over their heads. This place is always the same, always trying to run the cost up for the customer. Years ago they would try and charge you to print labels for Amazon returns, charge for shipping containers, you had to use their tape. Amazon worked to rectify it but they are back up to their old ways of trying to force Amazon customers making returns pay for packaging materials again. Just really poor business practice trying to take advantage of people. It seems a systemic family trait as it appears they have passed running the store off to a younger, equally rude generation. Take your business elsewhere and save yourself the hassle. **Edit- response to owner. I have attempted to resolve these issues with you directly. You were not interested and rude about it. I suspect this time would have been no different. My first dealing with you personally was in the early 2000's while renting a box from you. So I am familiar with you. We parted ways then due to your higher than average prices and watching your rude interactions with other customers. I just left quietly, denying my business to you. During the past 10 years, I have had no less than 3 encounters with you personally which were far less than professional. Two times were due to Amazon returns, and one was over your distaste for how my covid mask was attached to my face far after vaccines had ended the pandemic and after your employee said he could not understand me with it on. In the most recent episode, I did say a swear word in response to your relative's berating banter, which encouraged your other staff doing the same thing, as I complained about the practice of causing people to have to buy your products to fulfill Amazon's shipping requirements. It wasnt until I was walking out the door and your employee continued his mocking comments. I stand by my comment of you taking advantage of customers by requiring them to purchase packaging materials for Amazon shipping, beyond what Amazon has set in place. I contacted Amazon and they felt that bringing the item to you relatively in the same condition I received it at my house was reasonable. There was no requirement for me to box the item and other locations to include another UPS store said it was not needed and asked me to take my boxes with me. I have said this to you in person, and in a prior Google review which I removed after a period of time- If, as a business owner, you do not like your arrangement (or UPS') with Amazon, please bring that up with them. If you feel you need to charge for shipping materials, please bring it up with them. I am not your customer in this case...they are. I would not chose to do business with you or your store, but Amazon selects which locations I must use to send products back. Treating me the way your staff did, which is exactly like 100% of my interactions with you, is not professional. Couching handling a tire holder made of metal which ways 40 lbs as too dangerous for your employees...well maybe you or they have picked the wrong industry to work in. You can surely pick items up in a safe manner. I did when I brought it in. You and your staff could easily treat people like Kohl's, USPS, or other UPS Store locations in the area. Your store is the only one that acts this way. Good luck with your business. I encourage you to reflect on your attitude, and that of your staff, and embrace some change instead of trying...
Read moreThere are so many businesses and people who do not give the kind of excellent service my husband and I experienced yesterday at the Burke UPS store. I had a number of returns to make to Amazon and I chose to do it through this particular UPS store in Burke as we have always been pleased with our service there. My husband at 84 has asthma & COPD and can’t exert himself as it makes it difficult to breathe. I am 80 and fell a few days ago. I thought I just had a sprained ankle but 2 days later discovered I had a fracture. So I called this store and spoke to a delightful young man named JD. He said to come by and he would facilitate getting my returns into the store for us from our car. And as promised, I called when we got there and JD said he would be out in 5 minutes. I told him I could see he was busy (at least 5 or 6 more clients arrived right after we did) but he assured me it would be no problem. Sure enough, within a very short time, he came out and took my returns from the back seat and said he would be right back with our receipt. I could not have asked for better service anywhere. If we could not get that help, we might have missed the return deadline....
Read moreI came on Saturday evening around 5p.m. I had two huge and heavy boxes that I took out from my car that I first parked by the doors and entered the store while some customer was exiting and she even held the door for me. There were still people at the register by that time. I put the boxes on the floor and left my kid next to them and quickly stepped out to re-park my car. When I came back I found my boxes outside on the street, my kid still in store. I got confused and I couldn’t open the door, it was locked. My kid opened the door to me I came inside and the employee started telling me that service they were closed and they wouldn’t take my packages. Frankly, I didn’t even know that the store was closing at 5. I understand they worked hard and really wanted to go home but why throwing the packages away? If that “important” employee politely explained me that they couldn’t process packages because it was 5 pm I would have probably left quietly. The customer who was inside advised me to go to Staples and that I would be able to leave my packages there. Never expected to face this kind...
