It is really too bad I'm giving this review after today's experience. I used to be a HUGE fan eating there with the family a few times a week. I walked in today and saw a worker measuring the temperature of the meatballs. I asked "Are the meatballs OK" He just shrugged and walked away. Of course, we ended up ordering the meatballs and they were raw and gamey tasting. We opened them all up and they were undercooked/red/raw in spots. The guy basically served us intentionally raw food. With all the health risks with fast food, it's was so disappointing to have food like this knowingly served to us this way. He could have easily thrown the meatballs our or told us to avoid them. Instead indifference and sold to us to eat and potentially get sick off of. Hopefully we don't but I guess we'll find out in few hours. We LOVED this place but now SOOO disappointing. And yes I did file a complaint with the Fairfax County Department of Health.
Updated: Totally forgot. They stored one of their meat thermometers where they store all their pens for people to use to sign their credit card receipts. I'll spare you the pics of the food but here is the thermometer from the pen holder I was just able to pick up. Gross who stores their store meat thermometer in...
Read moreIt had been a long time since the last time I ate at cava. I came to this Burke location and was taken care of by a gentleman named Ian (as in Ian He Wonderful? 😂). He was extremely patient with me as I familiarized myself with the menu/options again and built my bowl. He answered all my questions and explained everything to me well so that I could make decisions even more delicious. He was extremely professional and helpful and everyone that comes to this location needs to know that. I ended up leaving having had a great experience, which these days is not an easy feat from most establishments. The food was good, none of my toppings looked questionable. You know how some veggies start getting a little translucent with age? Yea, none of that. You know how when you ask for a little bit of something, and the clerk gives you too much of it anyway? Well, when I asked for half of this or that’s he did exactly just that instead of just carelessly piling or dousing my food with whatever it was. The place was relatively clean, and the service was fast. Y’all need to come visit Ian, because he makes good bowls!!! And lastly, yes, my bowl was...
Read moreI have yet to meet a CAVA that I have not loved. From their friendly staff to the awesome food, it's always a great experience. So when I found out that CAVA has finally come to the Burke area, I could not wait to eat here for breakfast, lunch, and dinner!!
Depending on how i feel each time when I visit cava, I rotate between chicken, falafel, braised lamb, and roasted veggies. No matter what protein I get, my favorite parts about cava are their delicious dips/spreads and their unlimited amount of toppings that you can get in your bowl/pita. My personal favorites are their pickled onions, cabbage slaw, cauliflower quinoa tabbouleh, pita crisps, mint, and a lemon wedge. I'm always overjoyed when I receive my bowl after checking out and I see that my bowl has a mountain of toppings piled on top of my protein and grains. Due to this CAVA being the only one in Burke, their lines tend to be fairly long on the weekends during lunch and dinner time on...
