Lake Superior Vacation Rentals — Local services in Burt Township

We rented Jackie's Up North Retreat for a family trip.

Communication was mostly good and the price was reasonable. The location in Grand Marais, a short walk to the lake and to a very cute downtown, was wonderful. The town in mid June was peaceful, hardly any traffic, much quieter than Munising (about an hour's drive away) would have been. Close proximity to hiking, waterfalls, and scenic beaches.

The cabin allows up to 14 people but would be quite crowded with that many. We had 6, and that was about right. The kitchen was well stocked and we loved the long dining room table that was ideal for a large group. The beds and other furniture were older and a bit uncomfortable, as expected for a cabin like this. We appreciated having two bathrooms, although one shower was difficult to use due to slippery tiles and immovable faucet. A few minor things could use attention (a frying pan with a broken handle, extra blankets in a drawer that were full of sand, frayed American flag that should be taken down).

We stayed at Superior Dreams, managed by Lake Superior Vacation Rentals, for a week while celebrating the Sparr wedding, and it was nothing short of perfect!

The home was spotless, spacious, and beautifully appointed exactly what we needed for our group of family. The views of Lake Superior were absolutely breathtaking, especially the golden hour glow from the porch. Every evening felt like a scene from a postcard.

The location was ideal close enough to everything in Grand Marais but tucked away just enough to feel peaceful and private. The kitchen was well-stocked, the beds were comfy, and everything worked flawlessly.

Do not rent from Leslie. Reserved Sunny Shores for 3 nights specifically to be on the water. It was available when we booked it. She took my payment immediately from my credit card. Received a booking number along with confirmation number. Son and daughter in law flew in from California to visit UP in Michigan. Less than 48 hours from our check in she texted me tell me that it was no longer available due to long term renter. At tjis point we were already in the UP staying at a hotel. Apparently this is not the first time she has done this I spent 2 days trying to find a spot to accommodate 6 adults and one infant. No explanation of how this happened just sorry for the inconvenience. Not how you treat...
